When Mortal Kombat came out, I could never tell whether they got actors to do the moves or if it was sprite work, looked weird either way.

Been trying out Space Station 13 after reading about the enormous griefing potential. It's pretty cool although the UI isn't newbie-friendly and the game kinda just throws you into the fray. About 10 minutes into my very first round, a dude walked up to me, stole the basketball I was passing around to another player, and took off down the hallway. Then the station's chaplain came by, punched me in the nuts and ran away. I fell unconscious and someone strangled me to death before smashing a fluorescent light tube over my head. Gee.

You can customize diseases and spread them throughout the station. You can break the windows of the corridor leading to the escape shuttle (it comes at the end of the round) and dump cleaning foam all over the floor just before the entrance, so anyone who tries to escape slips and flies out into space...I read that 20 players were killed this way once. The possibilities are just too good for the learning curve to make me quit.

There's also this: Image
A horrifying green clown. A pitiful mockery of a human being. Cursed by wizards or vengeful Gods, these poor souls are trapped in their cursed clown suit, unable to speak in anything but tortured honks. Their minds are destroyed, reduced to the barest minimum level of intelligence required to comprehend the torment they must suffer. Few are kind to Cluwnes. Though they were once men, men despise them. Cluwnes are doomed to spend the rest of their lives twitching and honking, being beaten and shunned by their former comrades. Their only reprieve is the sweet release of death.

some guy made 8 grand off an exploit with astral diamonds or some shit in neverwinter

like real american money

not 8000 gold

woot. I forget what the friend code thing is. friend@charname.something?
Panchee on mindflayer.

But yeah, it's not bad, and has grown on me. The gameplay is thankfully not quite as repetitive as other MMOs, and the story presentation differs from other MMOs in that there's an overarching plot, but for the most part, you're just a dungeon crawling adventurer battling badies.

Achy wouldn't like it much because there's no griefing.

YOU KNOW ME TOO WELL...

Nahhh gurl, I like Neverwinter too. I just made a Great Weapon Fighter on Mindflayer. I'm always the healer but Priest isn't really my bag right now, and Control Wizard's fun, but I wanna try out GWF this time. I'm never melee...and I also like how nobody knows how to play GWF since everything about the description leads you to believe it's a pure damage class when it's more of a hybrid and assist kinda jawn. I gotta be the weird one.
My dood's named Motor Oil Rainbow.

soooo... Achty.... and i love that vidja games are where this is a possible question.... what WOULD be Griefing: The Game?

like, i guess what has the most griefing potential and/or people play BECAUSE there's so much meanness to each other?

Hmmmmmmm....
Older MMOs like Everquest or Ultimate Online were full of opportunities to really fuck someone up. MUDs are really brutal, too. I dunno if you can see this thread without being logged in, but http://forums.somethingawful.com/showth ... t403714033 is pretty lulz.
Or Second Life, where all the weirdos of the Internet gather. It's like if the Craigslist personals had a GUI. In Second Life, it's no big deal to see a 13-foot anthropomorphic werewolf with like...five huge dicks that end in snakes' heads, sporting a rainbow-colored tail and transparent wings that spread glitter everywhere. And the person controlling this hideous porn-chimera is a 34-year-old Brazilian dude. Who will yell at you for transforming into, like, a wheelchair-bound Sonic the Hedgehog that flings virtual shit all over this guy's virtual house. That's Second Life...yeah, probably the most grief-friendly game.

I just like doing stupid shit in FPS games especially 'cause everyone playing them has a really short fuse. It's fun to go into a serious clan server in BF3, follow xXSNIPERKING420Xx around until he gets to his camping spot, then shoot a smoke grenade right at him. Especially if he's in a tower or something equally conspicuous. Pushing snipers off of cliffs using helicopters or jeeps is fun too. Fuck snipers.
Or load up a heli/plane with C4 on non-friendly fire servers so the explosion won't kill them directly and earn you a teamkill...just wait until they fly low to the ground or near some buildings and laugh as the C4 knocks them off course into their death. They died from "bad luck". Thanks, Dice!
There's a classic trick where you can plant C4 on a jeep/motorcycle, coast it into an enemy tank and then shoot the C4. The game says you killed their tank with a revolver or whatever and it's pure gold. People get SO MAD. With modern games and their shitty, easily angered communities, anything with voice chat is easy pickings. The best thing in the world is when they're either already mad or are actively trying to grief you back, and you engineer it so they end up doing something that counts as a suicide, holy balls.
Aimbotting or otherwise cheating isn't really griefing to me, just boring. It's gotta ruin their fun in order to be fun. The goal isn't to make the game unplayable, simply to lure people who are already being dicks into your trap. I have a hard time playing "normally" or without some kind of gimmick (like only using C4 jeeps to attack) in games like that anymore, but I don't spend EVERY round annoying people all the time.
