Come to think of it...I can't find it now, but my EcoMod came in a white box that had nothing on it...except for a little alien. It was very clearly an alien, 8-bit style. That was a few months before the new logo. Rhys' ambiguity continues to baffle.

The repeater I just sold had that cyborg looking cyber punk dude that was his logo for a while on it's box. It was from Feb 2014.
He has successfully gotten us to devote disscussions about his stuff though, so I guess the ambiguity is a successful strategy?

Changing the topic: Anyone ever owned or seen one of the pre-Seppuku pedals...? Diamond Skeleton.
Pretty cool.
Also, this Pitch Monster looks sexy as f00k.

I've seen them around. I almost had my hands on a pitch monster that looked like that but it ran away after I paid. That DPM (and the one I have, but where the LED is, there is a clean blend) and sub-octave looks like the ones he continued into the Seppuku phase.

I have heard that the manufacturer "Diamond" told Rhys to stop using the name "Diamond Skeleton". Thus "Seppuku" was born. I'm not too sad about that, because I think that sounds better.
The Pitch Monster is just another variation of the "Digital Pitch Modulator, the "DPM-2", the "Digitizer" and the "Digit". I think the DPM-2 is the best incarnation of this model. The "Sub-Octave Synth" is the predecessor of the "Octave Synth" that I own. A demo will follow very soon. I promised that before, but it will be done in June. Promised!
"but it ran away after I paid" - did you lose money?

A few hours ago, I listened to your DPM-2 demo and my Digitizer demo right after each other, and they sound like two different pedals. Same chip, maybe, but two completely different beasts. Bitcrusher-like fuzz vs pitch shifting fuzz. No?

Looking forward to the next demo, Pepe!

Yea, I thought there was some crossover esp. in robot mode (between the DPM-2 and the digitizer). Digitizer is full on bitcrushing and DPM-2 blends analog and different modes as far as I can tell. DPM-2 sounds pretty good and your demo is about the best I could imagine for it Pepe. I was a bit (ha, pun) confused by it when I first got it, but I understand it much better now.
I learned that what I thought was a clean blend was actually input gain. Thanks for the awesome video Pepe. haha.
There are a few different pitch monsters that I have seen too (but I think they all had three knobs).
I got my money back from the pitch monster. It was just a weird quirk and somehow I ended up with different stuff than I thought. Just a whole mix up between people and language barriers. It actually happened with a second pitch monster when I picked up my DPM-2 (got refunded then too). It also happend with UG and I on the Octave Synth. haha. Oh, and a digitizer a different time.
On another note, I feel like the Octave Drone gets way compressed and has some volume drop with high output humbuckers. It's weird in that it like ducks (is that the right term?) and then blooms. It's strange. It has some nice textures, though.

Oh yeah, the "GearGasStore"...

I also wrote an e-mail to Rhys in March and told him that this symbol causes irritation. I'm very glad that he seems to keep away from this symbol now.
I talk with Rhys like once a month. He's indeed very spiritual and I don't think he means to be offensive.

What's he like, other than that? He's quite the mysterious character. Not active on any forums, no interviews, no face to put to the name. For someone who's been in the game for so long, I find it a little peculiar. He makes some of my favourite pedals, yet I know only his name. Maybe I just think of builders differently, having been part of this forum for a while now.

He doesn't make pedals to be chummy or chatty.

I think he just wants the pedals he makes to talk for him.
