The vast majority of this country is RURAL. Rural in a way that most people cant get into their heads about the word rural.
Even in the city, when seconds count, the police are just minutes away. And when they arrive, they shoot you and all your loved ones.
I live in rural Idaho, the average police response time is over an hour. It's a real thing. Also something not mentioned but also real is i own guns to protect myself from animals.
I'm not Mr. Pro-gun control or anything, but if you believe roving gangs of rape-murderers are a credible threat in America, you're completely unhinged and don't have any place attempting rational discussion.
Just the whole "yeah, ima be John McClain!" attitude makes me cringe harder than hard my unrelated erection right now.
Its not like everyone is under seige or anything but really....getting murdered is something that only has to happen once to be a real buzzkill.

Thank you, futuresailors, I couldn't tell if it was for tear gas or some type of non-lethal round or what. Though, I was pretty sure those BanglaCops weren't armed with a regular grenade launcher for a hostage siege.

I think I'm going to sell my gun. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I never use it and I haven't felt the need to carry it, so why do I have it? Wonder where I can sell it to get a decent amount back for it.

If it's anything decent, it'll continue to appreciate in value. I haven't touched any of mine since my kids were born 9 years ago, and I refuse to sell simply because it's not liek they ruin with age and once they're gone I won't be able to justify the price for a replacement.

I have been thinking about getting a rifle or maybe a .45 but have no idea where to start. Don't really want to get a cheapo chinese thing but not sure the wife would tolerate me spending real money on one.

Yep just to shoot at the range. We live in a quiet suburb of Chicago close the the middle of nowhere so home security is not really a concern. We just bought a house and it feels like something I should have just in case the shit goes clown though.
