I have never seen Earthless or Elder despite my relative proximity to both. Fuck.
The dude who makes Dunn O))) effects apparently released the DE1984 a couple of weeks back, which is a 5150-in-a-box. He's been having a fucking heyday with letting MXR know he beat them to the market. Makes me want to check it out. Because dem chugz.Iommic Pope wrote:All the talk of 5150s in the amp/rig thread lately makes me wonder if this would be worth trying:

Thoughts?
Yes, it is ugly.
That seems like a pretty horrific oversight on your part.D.o.S. wrote:I have never seen Earthless or Elder despite my relative proximity to both. Fuck.
im with you on this.ShaolinLambKiller wrote:My gut feeling that pedal will be a disappointment.
could be...similar controls and box...only difference, EVH has Boost and gate...Dime had scoop...t-rey wrote:I hope it's a rebranded Dime Distortion.
Never bothered to look - it would just amuse me.Iommic Pope wrote:The Dime is just a rehoused Doublehot I think.
T, I saw the DunnO, was very tempted. I was surprised we weren't talking about it here. But I'm guessing this thing will beat it price wise.
There are a few clips up on the YouTube, go search for em because I'm on mobile and couldn't be arsed.
But I would venture to say at this point it doesn't sound like total shit....I'm not gonna say it sounds like a 5150, but it sounds like it's at least a usable distortion pedal.
Other forums have pointed out that having the channel switch not on a foot switch is hassle and I don't disagree, but I kinda feel like this thing may be a good base to stack on.
I could give two fucks what Eddie does/doesn't use/put stupid tape on.
That motherfucker peaked on the first record.
A guy I've had some craigslist deals with in the past offered me one in trade. I declined but we worked out a different deal and I met him at his place and we talked about it. He wasn't crazy about it but I'm not sure what sort of tones he's chasing. I traded him my Beta Lead and while doing that I asked him if he was stage Melvins show that had just happened a few weeks back. He said he didn't like doom and said that he hated all of the riffs people played using the Beta distortion in YouTube.t-rey wrote:Never bothered to look - it would just amuse me.Iommic Pope wrote:The Dime is just a rehoused Doublehot I think.

That DunnO looks pretty sweet - haven't bothered to check out any clips because any gear money I get in the near future (one of yall buy my Twosome!) will be going directly toward a Dunwich HM2.
I wonder if anyone would be talking about it if it was just called "Bill's Distortion Pedals" or something.Iommic Pope wrote: T, I saw the DunnO, was very tempted. I was surprised we weren't talking about it here.
I personally dislike the name. Seems tacky and lame.D.o.S. wrote:I wonder if anyone would be talking about it if it was just called "Bill's Distortion Pedals" or something.Iommic Pope wrote: T, I saw the DunnO, was very tempted. I was surprised we weren't talking about it here.
