The original space invaders one on the pedal isn't what I have the problem with, it's just the box. The space invader one is inherently meaningless other than it is a symbol on the Seppuku pedal. People see what they see. It just became obvious of what exactly it was when I saw the box which changed my perception. Plus, when I got them I didn't really know what I was getting (three month wait on one and two month on the other). I'm not denying his right to display, just saying it was a poor choice for something made for public consumption (but I don't really care what he does and if he wants a small market, then sure why not). I totally agree that consumers dictate the market which was something I crossed earlier in the thread.
As for crosses, Bible quotes, etc...I would be equally nervous about displaying those. Or pedals with like sexualized women and all that stuff too.
Like I mentioned earlier, "The Blade of the Immortal" had a manji on almost every page, but it wasn't offensive or anything because it was a period piece and there was a notice on it (but it wasn't needed, but it helped educated instead of offend).
"Not in my house" was something I always wanted to say too, haha. I am just glad customs didn't check the box, who knows what they would have thought.
And the GISM cover...it looks like shit too. I know they always go for the offensive "anarchy/violence" model, but that is over the freaking top. I'm staying away from it.

Lol at that GISM cover. And I thought the cover for M.A.N. was ridiculous enough. That's just ridiculous all the way around though, but I guess that's Sakevi (please don't find me and kill me)

Yeah, I totally don't live in Los Angeles, Sakevi. I'm in, ummm, any place else. haha.
He designs t-shirts now for like some super posh designer in Japan (like $100 for one t-shirt). I dunno, putting out that cover here would get you fired no matter your job.

ILF member nevada who has contact with Rhys from time to time told me weeks ago that Rhys is "a pretty spiritual guy" and that this logo was either an esoteric or occult thing. I also wrote an e-mail to Rhys in March and told him that this symbol causes irritation. I'm very glad that he seems to keep away from this symbol now.

Dropped the shit on the miniKaset as well
Now I just wait for another run of IC Waters
My kassette that came recently has this design, ordered in March.

I've tried to contact Rhys but have the same problem that most people have had in contacting him. I am always positive and stuff about his designs and I value them the same as a modified tonebender circuit (I honestly don't see much difference). I think it is the vagueness that is offensive more than the actual symbol. The fact that his site is void of information and his pedals don't even include a name or anthing on the box anymore just fuels the fire of speculation. What is done is done. All he has to do is keep in touch with more than one person. I mean, we defend/recommend builders like crazy on here as long as they "keep it real, ILF-style". He doesn't have to be "chummy" or chatty, or even have a quick turn around time; just reply once and this whole ordeal could have been avoided.
I dunno, the vagueness and lack of communication allows for everybody's opinions, rumors, and speculation run wild without check. All he had to do was put a notice or explanation of his site (which is pretty illegible anyway).
Just opening a box and seeing that without any warning was a kind of shock and I really didn't want to explain it to my wife. Still when are bloody cowboy banana and headless elephant going to hop back into the scene?

Well it looks like he has decided to change that now, probably after a few emails. The lack of communication is definitely what was killer, but I do like to believe in the good intentions of people. If Pepe's information is true, maybe he just followed Buddhism or something.
For all we know, there could be an explanation about it all on his site, but all of our retinas are burned out so we can't see it

I sure hope so, but I recall seeing a picture of the user manual for the new logo pedals, and I think it said "Hardcore series" above the logo.
I'll see if I can find the picture.
edit: found it. IC Water, I guess. My Digital Water came with a "modded" NUX Time Core user manual as well. Similar to this.

There are user manuals? Umm, nothing I have came with one (except for the used memory loss from 2013).
I'll give him a pass on that. haha. Adding "hard" to any phrase is kind of fun.

Yeah. I edited my post just now. It's only because it's the circuit bent NUX pedal. Modded user manual.

Mine had an address and return PO box. The other one had a card I can't read from the distro.

I also have this box laying around. Came with some other pedal from someone here. I have a newer version of the MW. Still. Neat.
