LOL! This has to be the dumbest thread I've ever taken a little time to read. Everyone trying to out virtue-signal eachother while you all eat your own. Keep it up, it's very entertaining. And note to ILF, nothing will be concretely changed by anyone's post. You want change, get the fuck off your computers, take a look in the mirrors and realize that you are all the problem you say you want to change. LOL!!!!

I love a good LOL sandwich as much as the next guy.

Was going to quote it to this page but I can paraphrase:

"LOL you guys are wasting your time on the internet, which I am also on, discussing this when you could all go make real change, which I am not, LOLS"

Every troll is secret Wittgenstein!

This thread is hilarious.

I used to think The Velvet Hammer was pretty lame, but now that his over-moderation is adding controversy, I think he's bringing real value to the board.

I don't wanna be in here and have no intention of becoming a regular feature but... While I try and stay impartial I gotta find out peoples intents or else i'll just be handing out temp bans left, right and centre, possibly without just cause. Only way to do that, engage :idk:

These users can't all be Witt surely, at least try and mix the trolling up, you're making repeatedly banning you tedious.

I just learned about the Velvet Hammer yesterday (yes I don't pay attention), wasn't a fan at first, but I may come around.

I'll say this again. I don't know why we couldn't have had a conversation here without the presumptuousness and pompousness.

I may be somewhat naive by hoping not every man in Hollywood is a sexual predator, but I genuinely try to have a positive outlook on life even if it doesn't seem like I do. So, my initial surprise was due to the fact that I just was in shock to be honest and that I loved some of the actors that have been brought to light.

Kevin Spacey it appears is truly a monster. Each day that goes by it seems adds more people to the list. I just can't fucking believe he got away with this shit for so long. If I know anything about people that have been sexually hurt, it's that they all share that "I'm afraid to talk" feature, which is sad as hell. Their aggressor was able to have so much power over them that they were literally afraid to even think about it.

I remember when I found out my younger sister was raped. She didn't talk about it until about a year later. I wanted to kill the person who did it. I was literally in the works of having some people show up at his house and beating the piss out of him. My family talked me out of it. To this day, I don't know where that scum bag is. He disappeared and I haven't been able to track him down. I still want justice to be served but because of the way rape laws work, my sister saying something so much after the fact made it impossible to prove. There truly is no justice most of the time. There can be with guys like Spacey though. Even though you cannot do a rape kit and prove it, it will destroy his career and someone will take care of him on some level. Some of his allegations are semi recent too, so there could hopefully be evidence to put him in prison.

Very sorry about your sister, that really sucks, and that helplessness you feel sucks as well.

Unfortunately most of these guys, even the ones that are convicted with witnesses and even some who have plead guilty serve little to no actual time. Justice system is kindof upside down regarding how it deals with these crimes.

For a guy like Spacey social justice may be the best you can hope for.

To some people this is all a debate game or some theoretical political theater. So they have no problem making everything into an exercise in hypothetical scenarios, arguing about how someone is arguing wrong or picking apart wording instead of discussing the issue like compassionate, intelligent adults. In reality, even though sexual abuse and assault happen to men too, it's likely every man on this message board has at least one woman close to them in their life (if not several) who've been raped or molested and I'd venture almost every woman you know has been at least harassed in school, at work or by a stranger in public. I don't feel comfortable telling other people's stories, but several women in my life have some very intense versions of these types of experiences. Ranging from rape to serial child molestation and I have had suspicions that a lot more people I grew up with or are/have been close with have had similar experiences, but never disclosed it explicitly to me.

So when people start slinging around political buzzwords as insults and picking apart the wording of someone's statements, it brings up a lot of anger. When someone just wants to find a way to win an argument, but the other person is dealing with very real and intense tragedy and actual human lives, trauma and misery that has tangible and terrible long term consequences.

Very important things to say.
