OK< now I'm back home and I can take a moment to say it was GREAT to meet you dudes and hope I have more time at the next one to get to know everybody. Jams were great, everyone has sick sound. Seriously, if any of you are NOT playing in public or with/for other people, GET YOUR ASSES OUT THERE. Don't keep the magic to yourselves!
THanks to Behndy for the shirts, and whomever brought the punch-picks, rad.
Girl Scout Cookies!!! Samoas, Thin Mints, and fuck everything else. chocolate espresso beans? YES!!!
And a special thanks to whomever donated $$ to the space, that was awesome. We don't host shows here for the money, but the money helps us host shows here. Sincerely, thank you.
Just in case anyone didn't get the story, basically I have been keeping this spot going as both a private rehearsal space and a DIY venue, for the past couple of years. It started out as just practice space for a Ska band I was sound guy/fill-in bassist for. They broke up a while back, and at that point I decided I had to keep it alive and start doing shows, so I found a few other musicians to help with the rent, cobbled together a ghetto sound system, and the rest is local history. We've hosted all kinds of underground events, from performance art to punk, doom metal to hip hop. For me it's a home away from home, a place to teach myself how to drum, and a haven for creative stuff that the commercial venues around here won't support.
It was a pleasure to make it available to ILF! If anyone is touring in the future and looking for a venue in upstate NY, hit me up. https://www.facebook.com/Hangrr18
