We might just be a little crazy. So much of my gear was acquired while I wasn't in a band. Two Ampeg heads, two or three basses (including my custom Atkinson), numerous pedals. My Ampeg rig was my "practice amp" for a few years.
I know the blueline SVT and the VR sound similar, but why not have a wall of amps? Granted, I'd be just as happy having a second VR. But right now my focus is a second 8x10. If my guitarist is going to tour with two cabs, why can't I?

i really want to get a pair of matchy-matchy cabs - same dimensions because i am weird like that, so probably emperor or some other custom cab maker - with the big ben in one and a pair of vintage fane 12s (or repros) in the other. could be used separately with different heads - the orange and a bf bassman that will eventually replace my musician 65 - or stacked and pushed by the or-80 for maximum unf.
You could totally fit 2 12's in a 21x21x16 (the measurement of the Ampeg is like 22-23x21x16) My Verellen stacked PERFECTLY with the cab when the Ampeg was on its side
yeah i was not entirely clear... i do not need / want the cabs to be the same size as the ampeg, just the same size as each other. wider is better for stacking, though wide vs tall is really just a semantic argument over badge placement and orientation (where oh where are my rotating badges?!)
i will probably hit up emperor or someone after the first of the year and get on that...
ps: oh yeah and mad thanks to ancient astronaught for the speaker guidance... the big ben is perfect!

I fucking love that amp!
Also, a pair of matching Emperors would change your life sonically. Plus they'd match, I totally feel you there cuz I'm also weird like that!

thanks man! so do i!!!
i have heard almost nothing but great things about emperor, i dig the aesthetic and the "made here"-ness of them. the fact that i should be able to get them to build me what i want, though, is the deal-sealer... i am glad someone else understands my need for the matchy-matchy!
so... anybody want a damn-near-new fender 1x12 with celestion g12?
