Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
Thanks guys! I like the way it looks too, all of the exterior is just parts I found at Fry's that I thought looked awesome. Makes me think of Star Trek. It was based off of a Russian muff, 7C? but then I added an extra clipping diode per diode-loop-doodad, a feedback loop switch between two of the transistors, and a tone bypass. It's a really loud pedal which is weird because I thought it would be too quiet with those extra diodes, but the tone-bypass reigns supreme. I got the idea from the SnS Bluebeard which one of my friends has.

Thats such a cool setup....love the fact that its taking up a whole built in bookcase!!! I aspire to live in a place where my amps can be set back into the wall like that...very cool!

I had a hole in the wall and figured that I would fill it with amps. There's a Sunn cab all by its lonely self on the other side of the room. If the stars and planets align I might be bringing home a Fender PS400. This setup kinda makes amps with rear facing power switches a bitch to turn on though...

God, those Music Men(that's the correct plural form right?). I've always wanted to try one for myself.

Well, I just moved down to Houston Texas actually (really need to update my location), so I wouldn't mind a little meet up sometime if you're down.Dusty Nubs wrote:God, those Music Men(that's the correct plural form right?). I've always wanted to try one for myself.

Get a fuhrman, will clean up any line noise you might have, and then you just leave the power on, and use the switch on the fuhrman, which you can put wherever you want.
I still dont understand the power on the back, standby on the front design.

I actually just got a cheaper furman for that explicit purpose, although I'm wondering if the more expensive ones do any better or are just money sinks.AxAxSxS wrote:ShaunNecro wrote:I had a hole in the wall and figured that I would fill it with amps. below a certain price point, they are basically fancy power strips You want to get one of the ones that actually has transformers and shit inside. I'm not knowledgeable about the specifics, I did research when looking for one, but forget the details. In my home though, which was built in the 30's and has old school knob and tube wiring with no grounds, it makes a dramatic difference in the background noise of everything.

Re: Post Your Rig: Doom Edition
AxAxSxS do you know which model you have? I'd like to look into one. My house is basically the same and while we've slowly been going through and updating things I know that I'm gonna play plenty of shows that will require some sort of power conditioner for the help of previously what I'd like to avoid.AxAxSxS wrote:below a certain price point, they are basically fancy power strips You want to get one of the ones that actually has transformers and shit inside. My last house was originally built as a servants quarters, so the wiring was noisey as hell, but the wiring here is still somewhat noisey too. My Furman was $40, so it doesn't have transformers or anything.
