I still think flat eq clips would be the most helpful here.

Does the Vitriol have a catalog of sounds outside of the MT-2 similarity? With Mantic's explanation of the design's roots, it seems like it would be more versatile than any single one of it's progenitors.

haha what no, my comment was more alluding to
"this item with value x sounds like this item with value y"

Actually no. The Mantic does maybe two things really well and that's it. Low gain is great and high gain is great. EQ'ing only provides variation on a theme. It has no controls over various clipping diodes etc, so it really is a case of having one essential voice that can be varied with the eq. The MT-2 is the same. The gain ranges on both are eerily similar.
To compare, I have a Built By Ryan Guvnor with 4 different clipping diode options and it really is like having 4 different pedals in one. I actually prefer the simpler "one voice" pedals like the Mantic because I am actually a person who loves having less options. It helps me get on with making music rather than fiddling with knobs for hours.

Aha, so it's a granular spin chip reverb.

If it's not the 22$ one, it can't compared to the 199.99 Vitriol. You have to find the right one.

This one does a lot more...
https://reverb.com/item/3940002-metal-z ... -90s-black
Due to the wide range of EQ capability of the metal zone, I've managed to Legitimately modify it to be able to recreate many classic & sought after fuzz tones, such as the Sovtek Big Muff, Crowther Hotcake, Roland bee baa fuzz, vintage Fuzz Face, Fuzz Factory, Hoof Reaper, mxr Blue Box. As I acquire more vintage pedals to A/B it against, I will add to the list.
Edit:
But it's 100$

The different sounds you can get out of 1 fuzz + an EQ pedal was a mind blowing experience for me, so I kinda get what that seller is talking about.
