Not sayin' it probably doesn't play a little better (and is no doubt slightly more well constructed), but aesthetically it just doesn't quite work for me.

Definitely. I bet if I was blindfolded I'd prefer the fancy one any day. But looks matter to a degree. As does not spending 2k on something I believe is a slightly silly idea that's good for trash sounds

Dano lipsticks are truly things of beauty when hit with dirt. I have a hotrodded DC-3 and it is fabulous with fuzz or clean. Kind of bridges the Tele/Rickie thing.
