The pedal idea is pretty cool too, but I'd rather just have a small amp that I could push with my pedals rather than a pedal that acts like an amp, like the 22 caliber or the micro amp.

Ehh.... :erm:

How about both! :wow what a fantastic idea you have there: Youd hit a broader group of people. IMO. I know some guys builds those and I'd imagine the market is fairly saturated, and they can be found used for fairly cheap as well.

Just going my opnions.

I personally wouldn't use an amp too much. Maybe late night practice? But a "power amp distortion" I'd use. Especially if it was really fat sounding. :)

I just tested a 386 amp with cheap thrift store stereo speakers with good results. Of course an adapter is needed, and results may vary depending on the particular speakers. But its good news for those who are interested in the Stamp Amp but dont have a speaker cab to use it with... now you can get by using thrift store speakers for abotu $5 or less.

I still need to acquire some 388 chips to test the circuit with those, but its pretty analagous design wise to the 386, but its a 14 pin package.

Create the pedal so it can be used as an amp AND a distortion pedal. The DAM
Sonic Titan uses this design but in DIST pedal form. So maybe make it with switchable sections. So, you have either an in/ out with bypass (dist), or just an amp out.

I would totally hit that.

I'd hit that harder.

I think the price will be 50. Definitely no more. Maybe a discount for those purchasing a stereo pair?

After studying schematics more, the 388 chip wont be a practical solution I think because it actually will require more external resistors and capacitors than a bridged 386 amp. Additionally, its a bit more uncommon to acquire, so in the end the bridged 386 chip amp will be the way to go to be able to hit the price point.
