IDK I missed this but my goals are
* Record and release at least one record with solo project (doing well so one will definitely happen)
* Record with internet band (we have some good demos?)
* Play live and record properly with IRL band (still working on this)
* Be better at keyed instruments (we'll see)

I've been writing songs that are outside of my abilities and it's making me play better. Shooting for a 4 song "album" this year

Re: Music Goals 2019
I recently completed one ten track project with a little more planning than usual, and I'm thinking about doing another to change up what I've been doing a little.
As a consequence I've changed to a new scale !
A lot of my recordings have used D Phrygian Dominant, which has given them a particular flavour, so I thought I'd force myself to try something different and see what happens. The way I tend to make things it helps to stick to one scale and key as I can then chop different recordings together without them clashing (unless I want them too), so now I'm going to try using A minor pentatonic with an added 2nd/9th (or A natural minor/ A aeolian minus the 6th if you prefer).
Once I've recorded some guitar through a lot of pedals to chop up and make tracks with, I'll have to decide on 1) some sort of theme or source for images, 2) some theme or source for track titles and hardest of all, a name for the project.
Then I'll bang out some tracks and see how I feel about them - if the result pleases me (they'll all get thrown up on YouTube regardless) then I'll either make some more or find another scale and start again - either way I'm having fun and as usual, if I can get 10 views I'm happy (still plenty of Sonic Koalas tracks that never made it, but then I did make rather a lot of those so I can understand why

Re: Music Goals 2019
well, so far this year i have accomplished precisely nothing, and probably haven't played for more than 16 hours so far this year. i've been totally preoccupied with remaking my body, my activities, and other aspects of my life. i'm looking to buy a cheap Irish bouzouki soon...i need a non-guitar fretted instrument suitable for self-accompaniment. i'm hoping to do some writing on my fall road trip, when i'll have quiet time apart from humanity for the first time in over a decade.

I learned a trombone scale though!
It's no tuba but I remember a lot of the playing technique that still applies. Just gotta get the hang of the slide.
I want one of those plastic "brass" instruments too though, something with valves.
I did make V2 of the electric mute and it's muuuuuch better.
