It's not really a headphone amp - it's an attenuator with a headphone out.

You still need an amp feeding it.

At that point, you're going to be balls deep in expensive.

Might as well go with something like a DSL1 head at that point - a hundred bills less than the Rockcrusher, and it's an amp in and of itself should you want it (and has a phone/recording line out that can be run silent or simultaneous with cab).

I made a kinda similar thread to this one a way back. Ended up getting a used Pocket Pod. Not the best, but cheap, takes up no space whatsoever and definitely works for "silent" playing.
If I had more money to spend I'd be curious to try a Torpedo Cab sim. But I'll probably just stick with the pocket pod for now.

If you have a good interface then Torpedo Wall of Sound speaker sim is quite good. And free. Ish.

But the Torpedo need a preamp. I would prefer an all in one solution.
