I think the RM-1n is as close as you get to GY!BE-in-a-box.
Super saturated fuzz and beautiful reverb.
East Hastings/Sad Mafioso is my go-to song when testing Hall-ish reverbs.

thought i would bump my question back up as it is sort of on topic i guess. If no one has an answer i will just let it drop after this. Does anyone do remakes or clones of the original Drone Commanders? I know they have the pedal versions that the orignal company still has in production that are supposed to be slightly different, but the old units are no longer in production right? From what i remember, he was tired of making them and quit after a small run and did other stuff for a while so they aren't a thing anymore. Has anyone on here ever made one since then or had any interest in making one?

i've tried delay before dirt and it's really better
will try my midiverb II before my fuzz (mini swash) but i think it will be nice
and with the swash i have the break up sound but maybe too important : )
i like the industrialectric reverb but really prefer be able to make this kind of sound with other gear
i think i can archive some of the sounds of the industrialectric reverb with a fuzz in the loop of the midiverb II

Sweet! Both me and Eivind August (on the forums) are going! You should let us know if you wanna hang out.

Sure. I'll be down there THU-SUN that week. I don't have any plans for Oslo except for maybe meeting some friends, & enjoying a decent restaurant selection. I know a few people who are going to the gig. Should be fun!

Great set in Burlington last night. Some new material added to the projection reel and they’ve got a woman joining them on flute and sax for one number. Wasn’t at the right spot to see, but looked like the mic for the sax was running through one or more stomp boxes, prob at least one looper. Ungodly sound. Think Ornette doing Ben Frost.
And there was a merch table tonight, which there hasn’t been the past two times I’ve seen them. Cash only. FYI.

What's her name?

Maybe it was Mette Rasmussen?
I know she did some gigs with them last fall.
When I saw them in Brighton in October there was a dude doing the sax and trumpet.
Can't wait to see them twice at Roadburn in a little over a month!

The eurorack DC2 and the tabletop OGs are in production but the ammo cans are not.
To be honest the only reason to go for the Ammo can rather than the remake is because you like the housing, IMO. Sounds exactly the same to me.

Thats good to know, thanks for the info D.o.S. I wasn't aware that they did the eurorack ones now, only the updated pedal that i thought was sold out a while back (maybe it isn't now), but from what i remembered the pedal was similar but not the same for some reason (this could just be me remembering wrong). I will check out the modular one. Rarely see these things being sold used, which i guess means that people that buy them really enjoy them

I can't believe it took 3 pages for people to start saying RM-1N

Rare Waves sell the new pedal version via their own Reverb store:
https://reverb.com/shop/rare-waves-llc-usa
The pedal version is an exact clone of the ammo can version from what they say, and I've read over at Muffwiggler that people compared the pedal and ammo can versions and said they were spot on. I know the Euro version is fairly different, notably due to the different oscillator waveforms and the additional filter. & yeah, they are pretty great, probably why people don't unload them very often. If I hadn't gotten into modular I would be missing mine pretty hard right now, and I do still miss that filter from time to time...
On topic: Delay/Verb -> Dirt while playing 2nd intervals, or using screwdrivers, will get you far in trying to nail GY!BE tones.
