I like all the posters in the list and I like Witt as a poster in the aggregate but while I agree that he got banned because our moderators are zigging where they should be zagging (obviously they don't feel this way) this thread is just kind of lame and potshotty.

Where would you prefer I zag, i'm open to reasonable criticism.

Unless you're implying I should zig-a-zig-ah which I absolutely refuse to do.

I just think that the Witt/Troy Sanders/Bossman etc. Style of posters are good examples of not really bannable offenses. Do I wish there were fewer personal attacks and more fun references to philosophers? Definitely.

Do I wish they added more value to the forum and is it debatable that they're just assholes being assholes and existing to skirt rule 1? Of course.

Are they contributing less to the community than the content farmers, who really aren't that much different than the cydonias etc? Probably not.

Just my 2cents.

Well i'll stipulate to that if you tell me what you want, what you really really want.

Perhaps some new guidelines for content farmers are needed then, it's not something i've personally paid much attention too because it isn't reported much.

The main aim of any moderation is to keep things friendly and inviting to outsiders so yeah, sometimes gotta make a judgement call on people just being assholes

People that don't interact with the forum beyond self-promotion. And sure, there's a bit of the pornography test here ("I know it when I see it"), but I think we've all experienced people who don't actually care about discussing fun things regarding effects, waffles, shitty movies, or whatever, and only post here to hawk whatever they've got going.
