I think I do this? If I don't I am going to borrow it. Sounds radical!

My spirit tuning is: C# F# C# F G# c#, or you can do it D G D F# A d. I just sing better down half a step from standard, so everything I do is relative to Eb, rather than E. The major 7th in the open strings is a really nice sound IMO.
A really weird one that I've come to love is D G B E G# b - the top strings are tuned like a banjo. You've also got a G maj triad w the bottom strings, E minor with 5-3, and a E maj with the top 4.

FAGDAD
BADDAD
FAFAFA (Talking Heads tuning, maybe not)
I like the American Football tuning, the thing is that everything I play sounds like Mike Kinsella. But I normally play in D with both Ds tuned down to C.

My ultimate "Fuck you" tuning is GGDgg
That's about as close as I get to "folky" sounds.

I cannot do alternate tuning. It fucks my brain up. What about one of those magical capos that can do individual strings??

Open C tuning (CGCGCE) can be both atmospheric and heavy. Ty Tabor double dropped tuning a half step higher has been fun for noodling purposes (CGDGBE). I recently joined the CGCFAD, and somehow gravitate toward Shoegaze riffs in said tuning. My extended range guitars are currently in AEADGBE and EBEADGBE, neither of which is particularly exotic.

EADGBE with ring mod. Or however you left it last.
Ain't nobody got time to tune up fancy.
If it sucks, retune it Cher style.
