The Fourth of July is usually fucked up around here.
Lots of amateur explosion at all hours of the night.
...And then for the next 3 days

If you live in America or buy any American products or consume any American culture, you are actively celebrating/benefiting from that genocide every other day of the year. No need to hate on Thanksgiving. Relax and enjoy the day off.

I don't have the day off you assumption maker.

You guys are a buncha cranktopusses. If you don't enjoy a holiday, you're doing it wrong and it's your own damn fault.

the best american holiday is danksgiving, where you sit around with your friends smoking hella weed and then eat the leftovers everyone has scavenged from their family gatherings.

The astronomy part is cool and all, but I don't care much for being drunk or being around drunk people in general (exceptions exist). Resolutions are lame. Fireworks are overrated. I tend to watch a movie, read a book or play music/videogames when the clock strikes midnight on new years eve. But then again, I'm not big on birthdays either. Celebrating the passing of time seems counterintuitive somehow.
HATE

I agree about resolutions and fireworks, but yeah, celebrating the passing of time as well as the circularity of it, whilst surrounded by close friends is pretty fun.

I don't get the Halloween love at all. Adults using a cheap costume as an excuse to act inappropriately and kids being little assholes begging/demanding cheap candy. Lights off, house dark, move along.

Thanksgiving food...terrible? You're doing it wrong. Git gud, kitchen scrub
Without even getting into sweet potato & pumpkin pies, the thanksgiving leftovers sandwich/wrap is an event unto itself.
Black Friday is for suckers to get stoled on with bait & switch...waiting in lines to risk getting trampled or assaulted..........nah.
It's been all about cyber monday for nearly a decade.
Obligatory: fuck political correctness. Thanksgiving rules. Independence Day rules. Memorial Day weekend & Labor Day weekend rule.
Halloween RULES.
Hallmark Holidays all suck. All of them. I try to treat my parents like everyday is Mother's Day & Father's Day, or at least 1 day a week.
Without any of the expectations and inflated prices on "spending more money equals caring!" gifts neither of them need nor want.
Christmas is great for kids & women but more trouble than fun for a man...although there are moments to savor in
nailing it with the perfect gift. But the shameless, gratuitous commercialism is scust, esp now that the ad campaigns begin on Halloween and get worse every year.
I don't need nor want anything running ads with Christmas carol-parody pitches and jingles. Stop it, marketing department hipsters.
But even the most annoying, obnoxious ones cant tarnish my adulation for the classic mid 20th century Christmas records

Anyway...Scroogy busters can expect that coal giftpack. Not *clean coal* either, ya'll get the stinky high sulphur shiz.
Happy thanksgiving, even to the international broz/sistaz

Could you expand on this? I get the kids part, but the women/men part I found puzzling. Might be some stuff I don't know about the US tradition that makes christmas harder on men than women, but I'm pretty sure my mom works her ass off preparing for jeebusday compared to my dad.
