I do that. I have plenty of fancy shoes. A nice pair of low top Doc Martens that are gorgeous. Saddle shoes for when i want to be fancy. Hell, i even have boots and heels!

But ugly sneakers are easier for doing bullshit day to day stuff, and they were free. Why would i not wear them to my luxurious job painting houses for alcoholic sorority girls? When these ones fall apart, i'll probably buy a nicer looking pair of similar shoes.

Wait, did the shoes come pre-paint splattered like that? That is hilarious/awesome. It's actually a pretty paint splatter.

The takeaway today is that Yeezies are ass-ugly and finding shoes that fit when you're larger than a women's size 10 is actually annoyingly hard, so free, new nikes from the trash are a little treasure. And i actually really like that orange-yellow egg yolk color on your white sneakers, and orange-yellow is usually my least favorite color, so good on Space.

i get why ripping on; initially it seems silly to pay for someone to damage your clothes for you. But splattering paint well is a fucking skill. But having nice shoes is totally real.

Yeah I avoid strategically pre-ripped jeans, or *new* garments that look like something you may see on an extra from The Walking Dead.
Same goes for *deliberate bleaching mishaps* frivolous stitching and superfluous hardware. Trends that quickly look tired.
Then again I make my gear last, long time salvage proponent so dusty attire is kinda par for the course w/rustywire

(Upon first glance those shoes actually look passable as being authentic, and even aesthetically pleasing... but there are few things I find as laughably phony as faux-diy aesthetic)

i think there's a flipside to every coin. It's not where my money would go, but those shoes do have a certain aesthetic to them that is quite pretty, and enjoyable. Which is sorely lacking with the shoes in the OP. Those things actually look like discarded food wrappers and like someone tried to make clothes out of woven plastic.
