I guess ilf is a little more PC than I thought. I obviously didn't meant to offend anyone.

I see a crock pot and spices. A real meal calls for a real as fuck outfit.

Seriously though, that package can't be real. I feel inferior.

I just view that word and the N word at about the same level, and I don't think anyone's casually dropping N-Bombs. I didn't think you were intentionally being offensive. I was just trying to steer the conversation away from the casual derogatory remarks

It'S not effing PC to ask "please respect people with different experiences." It's about context, and that is hard to read on the internet, but words like faggot have really intense histories or experiences for different people. It is just about respect. I don't know. I know I call myself a fag, and it isn't killing me to read that word, it does set a tone for some people.

It's not about being offended per se, it's about not making you seem like a complete assnugget. At least that's the case from my pov. Call me what you want, no slur out of a pointed context will hurt me, but it will hurt how I see you from that point on. :idk:

faggots.

I haven't even read past the first page, so you've all probably moved on from it for all I know, but my 2 cents:
I realize I don't speak for homasekshuls everywhere, and that the fact that it doesn't bother me personally is never going to keep it from upsetting other people, but for the record: The word "faggot" doesn't offend me when used in any physically non-violent/threatening context, and I don't think it should offend anyone else.

Hurt feelings really suck, I know, but I honestly think it's a personal problem if you can't deal with something like being called a "faggot". It sounds callous, but "get over it" is honestly the best genuine advice I have for anyone who gets upset by it because, 1. Yeah, it's true, and I'm/you (I'd hope) are okay with it or wouldn't be bothered by it if it weren't true, 2. It's a super goofy-sounding word that's very hard to take seriously, and 3. Life is shit, and it was shit before anyone called me a "faggot", and it's shit enough that being called a "faggot" doesn't even register on my upset-o-meter.

I don't know... I really am not trying to prove anyone how "cool" and "down" I am for being so apathetic and "insensitive to other people's sensitivities". I really do mean it when I say that "getting over it" is the best thing one can possibly do, because having a meltdown over name-calling just validates it and makes one seem very self-involved/overly concerned with their own ego, and trying to suppress hatred or plain old bad taste only emboldens the people guilty of these things anyway (FWIW, I am not accusing anyone here of either... I think the posters here who've taken some issue with it have handled it very calmly/evenhandedly from what I've seen, I'm just getting up on my soapbox here because I like the smell of my own farts).
