Well vibrato is just chorus with the dry signal cut, so i feel it might be redundant. Im not sure about the low pass filter on just the noise, i think the lowpass should be on the whole signal.
as of right now I have things going like Input-->compressor-->random vibrato-->bit crusher-->HPF-->noise generator-->LPF-->compressor-->output
the way the HPF and LPF play with eachother does a really good job at covering alot of ground.
that being said - nothing is set in stone, and since the hardware design is done, theres only code to work out. so these are all just preliminary ideas subject to change. your advice is appreciated, keep it coming. i wont be able to properly test things until later this month so as of right now im just running things through a simulator.

Would you generate noise and make follow the signal with an envelope?

from the examples i have seen the noise is constant, independant of audio levels. heres a cool example. skip towards the end

Well for some reason soundcloud has become the worst website of all time lately.
But from the parts I've heard, god damn you really nailed the 80s horror flick with this thing.

i think i may be cheating a little bit by using such a cheesy synth clip. I will try and get some audio using guitar soon, but this was intended for things with more sustain than a guitar. synths with long release times and droning is what I had in mind.
i think this would be really fun to use in a delay's fx loop though.....

I was planning on using it for drones, actually.
Any idea how big this is going to be?

1590bb for the current revision. I think I may drop the bitcrusher (did'nt use it in the clip above) and make it into a 125b. maybe, only time can tell
