Yeah it's a tough call.
BeyondBlue do amazing work.
If that's worth anything.

Yeah, as Goroth said - why not promote after the raffle? I'll gladly do it through East Stomp Boutique channels
but at the same time the "prize" factor is not to be forgotten and this time it's a bit more personal for us and it should stay within the family i think

It totally is worth a lot. I will likely donate more, post raffle. To my mind, the prizes are meaningful to us, because of our connection to Twangasaurus. I'd hate to see his Secret Santa gift go to a hit-and-run sweepstakes person who can't value it the same way. Like I said, just my opinion. Either way, I donated and will continue to. An important cause that hits really close to home, this time even closer than usual.

http://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au are also great. It's awesome that there are some really quality organisations dedicated to mental health. As someone who's battled with depression and anxiety most of my life, particularly recently, it's reassuring to know that there's support available even when it seems like everything is a world away.
Just in case we're talking about post raffle donations in the field.
I know what you mean though, chucky. I couldn't give a fuck if I won or not. Just feels better than doing nothing.

Trust me, bro, I know the depression thing all too well. Good to see some solid organizations fighting the good fight.
(It definitely isn't about winning anything. I entered once, then donated to another group here in the States. I just cringed at the thought of one of the Facebook Sweepstakes groups or Reddit getting a hold of this and someone from outside winning. I watched my two favorite subreddits dedicated to gift giving get demolished by greedy people who prey on good intentions and I've watched the contest groups on Facebook swoop in, win all the prizes, then trade them in at Guitar Center. I'd hate to see this happen with something so close to our hearts. I might be over-sensitive about it, though.)

Re: potential outreach, I debated blogging/Instagramming the raffle, and ultimately decided not to before I even asked anyone. It didn't feel right...?

I say do it. Why not? The more help the better IMO.

we can still give beyond blue some attention without pushing the raffle part,
raffle is secondary to getting people some much needed help anyway

Agreed! That's the way to do it. Push the Beyond the Blue part without the raffle involved.

goroth wrote:Maybe after the raffle those of us who have ways to promote stuff (ig, fb, whatever) can say "hey, we just raised money for a good cause, give some too and be a good dude. "
I think keeping it in house is a good idea but at the same time getting more money to a good organisation seems noble.
word, I plan on sharing this with my friends. it can only help. great fucking work yo!!!!

So are we agreed, promote the charity, but raffle stays in-house?

Donated, but we don't need to be entered in the raffle.
Thanks for putting this together.
