My family uses the 4th as our excuse to have a family reunion every year. Basically the entire family on my mothers side out to 3rd cousins get together and do a pig roast and light off fireworks. It's pretty baller.

welp. its official. I'm marinating some chicken I found on sale.

and I've started baked beans. Kind of. Recipe calls for a 1 and 3/4 pound can of pork and beans that gets doctored. I'm making my beans from scratch so I can control the sodium and not have as much artificial junk in there. Because I'm a winner.

Happy Birthday Jwar, mine is on the 6th, so usually I don't do too much on my bday since people are usually out of town.

My dad helps run his hometown's fireworks display for going on the past 10 years. This year I'm helping too, going to be dropping 3" and 4" shells into mortar tubes that night. Either my dad or I will be wearing a gopro, and my sister is going to film with a cell phone, we'll see how it goes.

Work all day. Doing setup and live sound for the fireworks and symphony concert downtown.

I get to sit about 500 ft closer than anyone else to watch the fireworks though. Last year I had a blast watching them.

Not sure that we are doing anything. My wife got home from work at 8am and has been napping with H ever since. Yesterday we were both home during the day and didn't really do anything either

Got outta work early and ended up watching the fireworks at the beach with a friend. Actually we spent the entirety of the show talking about depressing relationship shit. I don't really remember them. The finale was cool though.
Now I'm huddled on the floor next to my charging phone, eating cold fried chicken.

That said, it was really a great 4th, best one in many years.
