Does anyone on here have any good leads on CD or Vinyl printing houses?

I know Conk has used these guys:
http://www.dosado.com/pressinghome.htm

But there's a pretty comprehensive thread about vinyl pressing on the main site:

IF you wanted to do a vinyl version there would be some limitations. Even on a Double LP you won't have but a handful of slots open so not everyone would be able to get on it, especially with the song lengths that some of us have. Then, all of the tracks would have to be mastered to have the volume issues leveled out. That will add to the cost significantly. The overhead is fucking ridiculous so I really don't see it working to do vinyl for it. I'll help put it together though if you'd like since I've done it a few times. Another thing though is that I just paid in full for s vinyl pressing and it won't be ready for 16 weeks. So that is a long time to wait and by the time this gets ready to go to press the wait time will most likely be longer. It is every time I press a record.

A tape or cd release would be way easier to do. I've got the hook up on that since I run a small label and get a discount on cd pressing through the label's account. No minimum so we could do it as a pay per copy, plus shipping type deal and that way those who want just a few can have them and those who want more to sell can get as many as they want. And those who just wanna be on it without getting any copies wouldn't be paying for something they don't need.

Personally, I like comps and I would like physical copies to throw in with all of my mailorders. Helps spread the word on other bands and all, but I'm down with a digital only thing too.

In some ways, I am very into this ILF Collective Label, between the drone comp and this new idea...

It's going to be waaaayyyy easier to press physical media if we're doing originals. Somehow I don't think Dylan Carlson would be very excited about me selling my ham fisted interperation of one of his classics.

I agree with my fellow comp buddy.

Also, and I hate that this should be a thing but I would also hate if I didn't mention it -- if we're going to do this right, we should really have a certain standard of quality that we adhere to. It's safe to say we all take this music fairly seriously, and for those of us that are involved in 'real' projects, like bands with merch and the like (by extension, Conk's label if we go the physical distro route) I would hate to cheapen that by including shit that doesn't pass our quality control, you know what I mean? That applies as much to me as it does to anyone else, of course, but I think having one person curate it would do a lot to alleviate the pressures and possible animosity that comes with democratically figuring out things like track listing, etc.

I have zero fucking desire to be that dude, by the way, I just think we should have one.

Well, yeah, I mean... we can be pro as fuck about it, and go that route. I'm all for it, but

a) I havent spent enough time chatting on the forum lately to know who would be good (although someone who already runs a label would probably be a good start)
b) no I dont mean me, I shitcanned, er I mean, PAUSED the label a while back

c) Now I worry about my song being pro as fuck enough

Count me in. My band has been experimenting with some doom laden sounds. Or I can just contribute something via my solo act, too.

I'm really just hoping someone will chime in like YES I WILL BE THE ARBITER OF ALL THAT IS DOOM.

I don't know about you guys but I definitely worry about everything I do being pro as possible with every thing I put out. All I'm saying is that it doesn't seem fair to anyone to contribute some MSPaint with a Trackpad Shit to a Pen and Ink portfolio piece, you know?

I don't mind putting it together and handling getting the physical copies made (whichever format everyone wants to do), but I have releases booked up with my small shitty label for the next year so I wasn't gonna put it out other than throwing the copies I end up with into the mailorder. That said though, while not an actual release I'd treat it as if it were one and make sure it looks and sounds as great as it can be. Artwork and all that jazz, and I'm sure there is someone here who could possibly master it all.

I have a copy of Izotope Ozone 6. I would not mind mastering everything to the same levels.

I think my band would be down. We're more of a heavy psych but get a little doom.

One problem I foresee: long songs.
could be a hiccup somewheres.

maybe set time limits once you have down how many people will actually be collected on this comp.
