This is a person who gives you information and then repeats it a few times
maybe they rephrase it but mostly they just over explain everything.
Definitely that last part. I don't know if it's a purposeful strategic move so I don't ask him any questions, but this one guy I work with will tell me EVERYTHING he knows in response to my question, but doesn't ever answer the goddamn question in the process.

I've never worked in an office job and don't think I ever could. One job I had was just me running the whole factory floor operation myself. No one looking over my shoulder and no incompetent workers I had to be responsible for. It was great. Then the bosses son lost his job and decided to work in the family business. It was decided that he would run the factory floor. He changed everything about the way I worked. Was always on my case about this and that. He couldn't get it through his head that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Turned a highly productive business into crap. I got depressed and totally demotivated so I decided it would be best if I left. They couldn't find anyone to replace me that would put up with his shit for more than a week, and the company went under within 6 months. Some people just can't be micromanaged. Some people shouldn't be micromanagers.

The boss's son thing.. my company tried out the boss's son in a bunch of different places.. one was as my assistant building stuff

then he went into the field… I have no idea how that ended up… then to the office for a while doing what I do now… I'm still fixing files from his time there..

The Bosses Kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fortunately I don't have to deal with that here.
I have had to deal with a couple on our production floor who hated working with each other and fought constantly.
Plus he had more vacay time so any time he took time she called in sick.

Both my program supervisor and department supervisor are pulled in a millon diretions and I've done a good enough job in my position that they let me go solo most of the time. Which is nice but I could use some more structure. Im supposed to ha a supervision every other week thats been canceled almost every time. I like the freedom but when I have something beyond me that needs addressing, its not always easy to come by that support.
But whatever. This has definitely been my best and highest paid job and I take note of theadvatages I have here over others my age and their jobs. But I will certianly be happy to leave this lifestyle behind in a few weeks. I hope to find an alternative to an office job for the future, or one where im more engaged in my work.
I cant stand the dude in the cubicle next to me, though. He sings terribly loud while working, and I've never seen someone so unaware of how clearly their displaying their emotions. Gets on mah nerves.

Dude, you gotta mess with his stuff when he is gone.
I used to have an cubicle dweller next to me that would eat at his desk and make the worst noises, for a while I posted videos of it. I also realized he liked to be on the web when doing this so I figured out where is Ethernet line ran (from my office!) and would unplug it and mess up what he was doing.
Yesterday in a meeting I was running I asked someone a question they answered it by saying no and then restated what I said.
Like this:
Me- So it sounds like the chinese team is working on your project.
Him- NO - the chinese team is working on my project.
He does it alot, disagrees and restates.
Makes me crazy

That sounds annoying as hell.
Dunno if i could be so bold to mess with the guy though, the dude has way too many friends here for me to get away with anything and I'd kinda be scared that he'd have a melt down

He's your Dwight,
My sister used to work here as well and I used to disable her mouse and unplug stuff on her all the time.
I once filled a guys shelves with Garbage, that was fun.
But he left it for a while which actually annoyed me more so I cleaned it up

My supervisor is good about knowing when to push and when to lay off. However we have some project managers that thing they get to direct us (IT workers) and set our priorities. Then our two managers (IT is split into two main groups here; infrastructure and business relations) like to also sway our direction, and no one seems to talk!
Personally, I don't feel like I'm being guided or coached on how to advance my career.

The endlessly repeating radio-friendly popular music shit I am forced to listen to on a daily basis because the majority of coworkers all put on the same radio station when they walk into the office in the morning is FUCKING AWFUL.

That sucks,
I hate being forced to listen to other peoples music
We don't do music here, not sure why, always been a rule I guess
Right now what I get is about 3 hours a day of Chatter in Chinese,
