Yeea. I have a feeling the Echo Park is going to be one of those pedals that will become harder and harder to find.

Until someone makes something that does what it does better...

Really? I feel like I see them all the time. :idk:

I was GASing for one for a really long time. I wouldn't mind one still, but I need to let go of some other 'lays first. :grumpy:

As usual, it seems like untill now it was hard not to trip over cheap echo parks, but now that I want one it's like they turned into klons

Actually, I think the answer would be 'yes'. At least that what I remember reading online. And if the echo park is indeed basicly a smaller DL4, than I guess I can confirm that it does oscillate. Don't know how good though, but I've got an ES-2 for all my oscillation needs, so I'd probably only use the echo park for the reverse/swell/sweep modes.

Aren't those same modes in the M5/M9 etc too?

I was wondering the same thing, so I tried googling it...And apparantly the answer depends on who you ask :s

Cause if there's basicly a DL4 inside the M5, as well as a ton of other effects, it might make more sense to get that instead of the echo park...Right? :idk:

Edit: I searched a little better, and it turns out that the consensus on the DL4/EchoPark vs M series, is that they DON'T share the same algorithms. They're supposedly 'close enough' though, it's just the reverse mode on the M-series that gets quite a few complaints. Out of the three modes I want, that's the one I'd rarely really use anyway, it's more of a novelty imo rather than something super usefull.

That I'm not sure about. I've never used a Dl4 or any of their multis. I have to say though that the Echo Park's clunky enclosures are super annoying so if there is overlap of some of it's better features it may be worth trying. The Dl4 is doofy too though.

And yeah until just recently the parks were everywhere. Now not so much.

I'm just gonna have to assume that line 6 uses the same algorithms for all their delays, and acording the specs on the line 6 website, the M5 does indeed include all the three modes that I'm after...Which might make the M5 a better bargain. I've never messed with anything from the M series though, I have no idea about the UI. I'm all about knobs and faders, I passionately hate having to go through menus, saving settings using tiny knobs or touch screens, etc...

If you just use the M5 as a one-use effect, there's no setup past dialing in that one effect I believe - then it's just use it like a normal pedal.

Same as lot of modern multis - find one setting you like, tweak and treat it like a pedal.

Just you can change what's inside it with a few flips later without cracking it open or taking it off the board.

Not my preferred form of reverse delay (as I like the tape-like reverse and the Timebender remains my current favorite for "feel" on how that's handled in a seamless manner), but it does it.
curiously, do you use yours full wet? When I do with mine, I usually get a little 'blip' before the onset of the reversed sound. If it were easy to dial out I'd use it SOOO much.

Using a GT-001 (which does the similar reverse to the DD-5 where it's as described).

Can do a full wet demo, I'm normally not a big reverse delay on that unit as I prefer as mentioned the faux tape reverse buffer type.

Whoops, I was referring to the reverse on the Timebender. Sorry, should have been more clear

Full wet is how I run the Timebender most of the time. Never noticed what you're describing, but I'll check.
