Sounds to me like someone wants a SW box set for ILF SS! :omg:

I smiled through the entire trailer. Looks like it will be less like episode 1-3, and that's all I ever wanted.

Honestly they aren't that bad, but I just don't think any of the "prequels" should have been made. They were all so bad. So bad. I saw all of them on special premiers too before they came out in theaters. This is a guy who isn't a Star Wars fan and yet, I've seen them all.

I'd like to see the whole series redone in a darker atmosphere ala James Cameron. :)

Can't be worse than the prequels. It's been a while since I watched the redlettermedia reviews...

Fuck yeah bro. George Lucas needs to be put out to pasture, and never allowed to make another movie.

I have cautiously high hopes for these movies, based on the previews. They can't be as bad as the last three.

Although I watched Episode IV recently and while great, is a severely flawed, silly movie. And I grew up loving these flicks. We all know RotJ is pretty half arsed, I din't even want to rewatch Empire for fear of tarnishing my childhood love of them.

Jaws fucking holds up, Star Wars does not..... hell Joe Vs The Volcano holds up better.....

On one hand I'm excited. The other I'm nerd raging that the books I've been reading for 15 years are being abandoned as fan fiction.

Just like Star Trek. The new movies rock. But do we have to blow up Vulcan and basically have a parallel universe? Fix the fucking timeline. Continue in the motherfucking universe that I grew to love. Don't be a bitch. No more reboots. No saying all those other parts of this verse that we used to say is canon is longer canon. Expound what I know and love.

Fucking assholes.

I think they said there's a chance they'll still use characters and possibly reference events from the expanded universe. Apparently a lot of the writers are big fans of the books. I think they're more just saying they don't have the time to fact check the script against hundreds of books.

Empire is the benchmark. I hope they are big fans of that one. we'll see.

 Just watched their review again last week...the new trailer reminded me it had been a while. Still the best thing to come out of the prequels.

And yeah, JJ Abrams is in a lucky position...even if it's kinda bad, he's still basically guaranteed to make the best Star Wars movie since 1983.

What i thought was cool about the JJ abrams Star trek reboot was how low-tech a lot of their special effects were.
Like when they skydive onto that giant floating drill thing, they're actually just standing on mirrors and looking up into big fans!
I think that bodes well that they were able to milk the budget like that. Of course we're talking Star Wars budget now so, that might be awesome.

Or it might be super lame, i s'pose we shall see.

It occurs to me that most everyone who has not dug the original trilogy probably actually never saw the real versions. Just the horrible edit versions with cgi music numbers and other bullshit. really takes away from the vibe the trilogy put out.

Edit: Just heard this rumor, hope its true- http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/08/16/ex ... o-be-rele/
