i liked Delicatessen okay, but i always feel like Amelie is a version of it that makes me happier? i know technically they're not that similar, but they fill me with the same responses.
City of Lost Children is perfect in every way.
i get the same feels with Tarantino and Guy Ritchie though. Reservoir Dogs and Lock Stocks are okay, but Pulp Fiction and Snatch always feel like the same movies done better with more depth and talent.
FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Dead Leaves, Tekkonkinkreet... there's soooo much fucking amazing anime.
does the og Aen Flux fit under film? love that series.
SO. MUCH. TASTY OUT THERE.
horror - Evil Deads, Army of Darkness is my favorite, i even liked the new one. Martyrs always makes me wiggly. 28 Days Later is beautiful.
SO DAMN MUCH.

that's funny. i JUST found out Hausu became available on bluray. sadly it's a Criterion Collection, so while it'll be a great transfer and have neat goodies, it never will come down in price, just go UP.
but. YESH. ORDERED.

Also, when we're talking anime, Paprika is one of my all time favourite movies.

Paprika is so awesome. Rin/something something Mononoseaheegwhse was good stuff too. compressed.
i picked up the scaled down, redid graphics version of Full Metal Alchemy. gonna tackle that after Titans.

And your gonna love Hausu dude, shit is completely crazy.

Hausu is lovely, gotta dig the shoddy effects.
When we're talking weird japanese films, Takashi Miike is the king. And stuff like Tetsuo, Funky Forest and Suicide Club.

Netflix has some good band docs too. Saw one about The Minutemen recently that was really good.

I'm in the process of making my way through the IMDB top 250. I find that is a pretty reliable source for good movies, although you should ignore new movies for about a year or two, because people tend to overrate movies right when they come out, and then the rating comes back to earth soon enough.
