Haha! Nice.

Hey Ax, have you considered just putting your amps up on stage while you guys stand in the crowd? That way you can get blasted with your wall for a change.

we've had to do that a few times, I'm not a fan as I get worried about my board getting crushed and it makes it hard to enjoy playing the show.

Fair call. I forgot how sizable your board is.

You're essentially playing out to thirty other dudes who look like they're in your band.

I'm actually amazed at how many women are at the heavy heavy shows around here. And how many are in bands of their own and those bands kick some ass! It's a very cool thing. The last popular metelfest type thing I went to was total sausage festivals, but the doom/stoner/sludge definitely has the lady's attention.

I'm heading up your way-ish in the not-so-distant future. It will be cool to see (and hopefully play) for a more varied audience.

I think women come to more doom shows because the dudes aren't macho aggressive douchers and they can hang out without being hit on all the time.

A lot of doom music has sort of a groove to it and I think women like that. I saw The Skull awhile back in Brooklyn and my girlfriend was hanging out with her friends that night in Brooklyn as well. So they surprised me by showing up to the show and they were actually really digging the music. I drag my girlfriend to a lot of show but she tends to enjoy the doom shows more out of the other types of metal. She's seen The Sword with me a few times and has enjoyed that as well. On the other hand she doesn't like death metal at all.

I'm lucky my wife does. She likes pretty much all the same stuff as I do, but stays more in the old school variety of black/death/traditional.

We should book a drone/noise gig at the Squeaky Lizard!

I wouldn't mind doing so, I'm just honestly worried about their electrical there. I played there with Dragunov and I couldn't even run 2 rigs. I had to turn one off and even then every time I would play something chuggier it kicked on their stage lights we had asked to be turned off.

I didn't know you posted here.
