Just trying to get those Drop F open notes a lil more audible...

There was a company called Forge that made cabs that dropped off at like 25 Hz or something bizarre like that. You could probably replicate that as a build.

I'll have to look into it! or maybe have Whiskey build me a specialized 21" driver folded horn design. :yay:

Ron ripper uses Bergantino cabs (a 6x10 and 2x15) in a similar tuning so maybe we just need to find the right 2x15 cab design.

looooow tuned cabs need A LOT of driver / power to hit that fundamental under B.

do able yes, but power and speaker displacement hungry like a MOTHERFUCKER. also $$$$$$$$$

sub 30hz fundamental notes is a deep, expensive rabbit hole. but gatdamn its a fun ride.

Thank ya both! Very happy with how it all came out.

I have a 2nd 212 up to the point where it just requires tolex, I just only decided on the color of that now. I was going to throw in these 2 old 12's a friend gave me, now I'm debating of making a 212/115 cab since I do have a old ass 15 that I pulled from a Kustom 215. I might do that just to do that. I might go on and start that build this week but I'll at least finish up the 212 to wait on some speakers to drop into it.

Thanks! I'm kinda debating on how I'm going to stain it, I figure I'll do some tests after I cut the baffle out.

Ah, wow, you went vertical on that. Interesting.
I was expecting a 4x12 sort of box.
Grey burst finish?

Hell that's worth a shot I was thinking a brighter cherry or green. Something slightly odd. I was going to do the large box design but then I decided I wanted to try doing it this way instead. I made sure I have plenty of air space for everything to breath properly. It'll be interesting to say the least. Plus I don't think I've seen one this way, I have seen one as a bigger box though.

any plans to cover the plys from the sides shown on the front? Or are you just gonna let it rock as is?

I ask because I'm currently designing a cab but am unsure as to how I want to address the front. Ideally, Id make a complete rip of a Janice 4x12.

Part of me is curious as to whether or not a very dark, rich stain (ebony maybe) would be enough to make it near-impossible to notice, since making a solid front boarder of sorts is adding in a whole new set of tools, time, and materials.

I'm actually going to adding some 45s on the front that's going to basically cover all that up nicely. pretty much like this:

on the back I'm going to let them rock out like that, basically keeping it as a design element, cause with the back panel I'm going to round the edges and allow that to come up to the back a tad as part of the design so the dark will be brought up to that as well.

Those Janice cabs look nice. I dig on em as well.

I have another sheet of this red oak I'm thinking I'm going to do another 212 115 cab but 45 the edges more like Olde Crow.

Vertical is awesome. I'd trade my current 4x12's for vertically stacked 412's if I could find something of equal quality.
It just gets the speakers up in the air where they can put more volume near where you are actually hearing it.
