Re: Rum - Kraken in pretty tasty, although I'm not much on spiced rums. It's priced right at $20 here as well. I prefer Appleton for all of my rum needs. The regular stuff isn't very good, but once you move up a step to XV or beyond that, it's damn fine booze.

'round here (or at least my roommates and I) call them Brojitos for that very reason.

Besides that I prefer them every single day over a margarita. Prefer beer over all of them, but summer drinks are summer drinks.

Mostly dislike rum, but Kraken is definitely one of the good ones.

I found it quite enjoyable. I would get another bottle. Same price point that you stated. But really I do enjoy Sailor Jerry's more so. It seems to be even smoother and with more alcohol content, If I remember right it's like 89 or 93 proof.

Anyway for the most part I just like mixing it with coke zero. taste great and seems to balance it just right. Sometimes with orange juice as well.

Kraken is 94 proof

Kraken is a delightful rum. I like it on the rocks, but I'm not opposed to adding a wee splash of coke, a bit of orange juice, or that wonderful Reed's Ginger Beer. If i'm going the Ginger Beer route, I like to add a little sprinkle of cinnamon or cardamon and an orange slice.

well piss on me I honestly thought it was 80 proof. I didn't keep the bottle after i was done with it.

In Nevada, Kraken is like, $25 for the 1.75L bottle.
