Nah, theyre still there. over 100 comments. dont think that includes replies.
So there are a lot of people (way more than you would think) who think this vice article bashing corgan is a response by fox (who owns vice now? that really sucks) to corgans appearance on alex jones... in which corgan plainly stated pretty simple truths about the dehumanizing nature of a "corporate interests at all costs" (my words) sort of approach. i mean none of this is far flung. i think if you are paying attention to the world at all, and have even a marginally progressive viewpoint, this stuff is practically common sense. i dont really see what the big deal is about anything he said.

it's really long, IIRC around 10 minutes or so in is when he starts getting into the corporate stuff
this was posted on youtube mar 2012. fox is just now getting around to their backlash?
meh
i cant overstate how much it blows that vice is owned by a huge corporation now. so newscorp owns vice, or some division of fox does? haha. what a joke.

from the rolling stone interview someone linked itt
"Then, Corgan — whose band made the era-defining Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness — found that the new decade’s music scene had no place for him. He released three albums, each a contradictory attempt to redefine himself — and they all flopped."
i dont know which albums exactly hes referring to, but i dont think hes ever really made the type of attempt to redefine himself artistically that you see from other musicians, past and present
but i guess thats qutie subjective

If I had to guess I'd say it's referring to the Zwan album, his solo record, and Zeitgiest.

i didnt think his solo album was really trying anything new, particularly, it just sucked.
i love this part from that RS interview
"As Corgan tells it, Iha got deep under his skin by acting hostile and then insisting nothing was wrong."
that's like..every band ive ever beeen in. you were in a band for 10 years and thats the best you can come up with?
also, interesteing quote from jimmy chamberlain
He has started a new band, called This, and he doesn’t see the point of spending months painstakingly recording music anymore. “Music is such a small part of people’s lives now,” he says. “People don’t sit around like they did in the Nineties and stare at album covers and think about Kurt and Billy. I fucking hated the Nineties.”

I love Iha's response ( I think it's from that article). Like a one line email being all "I prefer to think about the good times"

Matt Sweeney and Papa M are going to go a long way in making that project not suck.

Honestly, I don't give two shits about Corgan as a person, and the most I've given a shit was during the whole Devi thing. All I care about is the music. Teargarden wasn't horrible, and Oceania was pretty damn good. So far, I'm ok with modern Pumpkins. The musicians are solid, the music is good, and the old albums are still in print. Who cares about Corgan's outbursts?
Also, that synth rack makes me wish for HQ versions of whatever the fuck he was doing that day.

Now I'm thinking about Tila Tequila doing an 8 hour rendition of Siddhartha in a tea shop
I'd love to see some more pics of them as a couple
Also I'm sorry but there's no way Newscorp cares what Billy Corgan has to say..... this is not a conspiracy......

The last good thing the Pumpkins released was the Lull EP in '91. Yes, it's true. I'm sorry, or maybe I'm not, but Siamese Dream was a huge step down from Gish. I remember when Gish first came out, everyday after work I would get stoned and listen to it on my Walkman while I masturbated. Yes, it was that good. Good times were had by all. Well, by me at least.
That said, why would Vice waste time writing about about an irrelevant person? Seems like he really is still relevant or Vice are just being dicks. Or maybe both but perhaps neither. It just seems silly to spend energy and effort writing a story about someone who is irrelevant to simply be dicks or to make money or to do both. Surely they could find something more "relevant" to write about. What a world we live in.
