Not really much of a stretch. I was messing around with this earlier to the point where I went and got the lyrics so I could sing the right shit, easy to toy with and make heavier or weirder.

That's very cool and I'm sure they were having a blast doing it, but I'm thinking of taking it in a very different direction. I'm seriously going to pitch it to the guys and see about doing it at least as a live thing to throw in.

I'm taking copious notes on this thread because here's a plan: when starmansam moves to Nashville (it's a-gonna happen, damnit) we're gonna start a cover band that plays all the honky tonks downtown.
Phase 1: Infiltrate the honky tonk, gain their trust
Phase 2: Start with one normal cover of a well-known song of Journey or some shit
Phase 3: Kick on fuzz pedals and start our version of Prince's 1999 played at a snail's pace and see how long we can play before they cut the mains
Phase 4: Repeat at another bar down the street

I enjoy some Voivod and I totally love early Pink Floyd but that cover fucking sucks.
