Proof dual rigs are essential. I recorded this a while back at modest volumes (louder than speaking, but not loud enough that the wive complained). Just threw a mic down on the floor and riffed away. Ampeg/Musket and Blackstar dirt boosted with Mastortion.
Excuse the overall slop - especially around the one minute mark when apparently I couldn't decide what I was going to do
I'm really finding the one amp per cab thing is what is sounding best to me. None of the amps I'm using right now quite make 200 watts, I have one that does, but prefer what I am using. They are all capable of pushing two cabs to the speaker breakup zone, I like to set them just shy of that. For whatever reason, they seem louder with one cab than two, like the signal is just more hd. It could be some sort of phasing issue, but the cabs I have had share a head are both loaded the same, only variable being size. they are both oversized with the monolith being slightly more ridiculously big. It's also ported. maybe that has something to do with it? Anyways the sound with 1/1 ration I am really happy with.
I'd be curious to try that fender 300 watt thing that has separate power sections for each cab. Only seen one come up once and I was in no position to go for it.

But more has been added to the WAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL OF DOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM. I got an old Peavey 4x12 that looks like this isnt its first apocalypse and an old Triflex 2x12 subwoofer that has some issues all for the low low price of a fuzz that the best offer i got for it was $45, think i got a good deal?

Every time I make an effort to bring less, I regret it. PITA to bring the full rig everywhere, but so worth it when it's all running right. Instead of trying to bring less, I'm thinking a bigger van is required. One large enough for Whores to borrow when they inevitably get out here for the west coast tour with unnamed up and coming band that has not contacted them yet but really should any day now because they are stupid if they don't and we will all regret the lack of whores/un named up and coming band rocking the shit out of all the shit.
I feel like I might have gotten side tracked there.
Nahhh.

The agent for said band asked if we were available, but hasn't submitted a formal offer. This is the third time he's expressed interest in us, so I don't believe anything until it's actually happening.
Also, it starts in San Francisco, and that's a 36-hour drive from Atlanta. We don't have the money to do that.
