Damn, sounds like Japan is the place to go for gear!!

I want to go to Japan to find the old/rare Guyatone stuff. A couple pedals in their FLIP series were only released over there

The thing is, you really have to dig around to find the good stuff, which is why second-hand shops like Hard Off are so cool. But there aren't any in the Tokyo metro area. Even in Ochanomizu, there just aren't that many old pedals to be found. They really value 'new' stuff way more. So yeah, it's paradise, but the keys to paradise are never easy to find.

it depends on what you're looking for too. I mean I love old boss gear and that's just everywhere there. Other weirder random stuff not so much. But yeah there's a pretty huge thing about 'used' gear. Which is great for me, means I pick up super feedbackers for $30!

Oh, shit! So the gods are on my side and my wife is incredibly patient and supportive. And now I'm going home with a Yamaha SG-2 as well. Just popped up in Yokohama so I took a train from Tokyo, played it, loved it, bought it. With all original parts, Yammy flight case and strap. Cost $480 and I couldn't let it go.

Tried unscrewing the collet but no dice. I actually now think the trem arm is supposed to stay in. It's hard to find much info about these things (they were only made from 66 to 67) but I did dig up a post from a dude with a couple of Yammy SGs who said the trem arm only comes out if all the strings are off and the trem is disassembled.
Because it's so clearly influenced by the Jazzmaster (same scale, offset shape, rhythm circuit) and I'd seen pics of them with the arm out, I figured it'd go in and out like a Jazzmaster arm. But apparently not.
