The Weedian! Nazereth!

I think my favorite bits are when they change riffs and all you here is the pure tonegasm that is Pike's guitar ring out (like at the 19 minute mark).
My favourite bit is that heavily reverbed solo that changes into the trippy lelslie guitar bit, where the bass and drums meander in and out (bout, 43:00) and then THAT FUCKING RIFF just comes back and smashes your alpha waves into overdrive.
Third eye opening shit.

Cope is awesome. Big champion of all that is heavy, loud, weird, and epic. Wrote what is considered by many to be one of the great pre-internet musical-niche jams with Krautrocksampler, as well as a handful of Antiquarian Jams and various albummmz.

Startling, when you consider his first band (which was one of those "going to rival U2" in the Blur/Oasis sense) sounds like this:

If we want to get all organised...we can set up a world dopesmoker day page on facebook...go viral with sign ups and allocate a day in the year where everyone should play it...make the shit global!

It might even get picked up by record companies, metal mags, bloggers etc...

There is no other day to do it than 4/20.

I have that song on repeat on that day.

I think you're the only other person on ILF I've seen who still does CDs regularly

When you listen to jams over 22 minutes, you gotta do CD or you're compromising sound quality.

That I can totally hear, because I haven't been playing very loudly for years. I swear.

Yeah I've heard about this but never tested the theory myself. Although I've had a few times where an LP just sounded flat out bad in comparison to the CD version. & breaking up a long piece like this would be a shame anyways.

I'm guessing it was probably all in how it was mixed and mastered. If they just took a digital album and put it on vinyl, it'll most likely not sound its best.

I prefer the sound of vinyl above everything else, but everyone has different preferences. Also I don't mind changing sides because it keeps me from zoning out from the music, keeps me engaged. If I didn't have this problem I'd probably go with CD

It has to do with the width of the groove required for the song (which has a lot to do with mastering). You try to fit too much music on one side, you're not going to have enough space for the proper amount of low end.
