If you get in my car, you probably will have to deal with this. Don't care who you are, or how much you cringe.

And damn right I'll sing along. Doing it right now

Edit: and You Don't Know Me is a killer jam. No doubt about it

I'm weird in that I actually prefer a lot of the studio recordings to the live stuff with the Dead. I guess the cocaine era wasn't so bad but the heroin era? That shit was turrible. I can only handle so much out of key vocals (ditto with Phish).

Broadway musicals.
the non-artsy early (i.e. pre-Pet Sounds) Beach Boys.
vocal groups from the 1960s like the Association, the Fifth Dimension, and the Sandpipers.
Iron Maiden.
Bell/Biv/Devoe.
all those dance-rock bands from the turn of the 80s/90s: EMF, Jesus Jones, the Farm...there's something utterly darling about their E-fuelled fall-of-the-Wall hopefulness.
"I Want It That Way."

and who the fuck feels guilty about listening to Belle and Sebastian, or the first two Seal albums? that shit rules.

i've been into the Dead for over 40 years, and even i sometimes wince at the vocals. but i'm not listening to them, or e.g. Phish, for lush vocal harmonies...i'm listening to the instrumental interplay.
