I think even if there were no limit, it's not in yours or anybodys interest to have a gathering of people there. It's a court hearing and it would just give the judge a predisposition to fuck you guys. I say just take whatever slap on the wrist they give you, say your playing shows for free now and be discrete about any transaction.

I hope it goes well. I know I've personally had some of my most spiritual (for lack of a less poetic teenaged hack term) moments in basements surrounded by 30 sweaty semi strangers all singing along to the same song. I would hate to see such a beautiful thing get fucked anywhere even if it has never been a part of my life.

im going to come across as the fun police but im a noise/public health officer that deals with this sort of things (in australia, but im sure the laws are similiar)

when you got to a venue/event theres laws and regulations/requirements in place to try and make the whole thing safe for patrons to attend
- space
- toilets
- safety (electric,hazards etc)
- number of exits
- plan in case of an emergency
- strutural compliance
-security

so whilst it may sound like its a bit overboard for a little basement gig...
cramming a whole bunch of people in a confined space...plug a whole bunch of electrical equipment in...add water/alcohol and rowdyness...could potentially be a recipe for disaster.

fun if nothing goes wrong thou...but if shit hits the fan and someone dies from fire, crowd rush/passing out etc..

When was the last time you sat down and watched an entire feature length "adult film"?

Something about this seems really weird. Why would they go so far as to involve the tax/zoning administration, seems really unnecessary? Clearly this would've simply started with the cops getting a noise complaint, but why wouldn't the cops just shut it down and slap a fine on him?

There are plenty of places like this in Milwaukee, and they've never had any issues, for the most part, to the best of my knowledge.

Oh and the whole "LOLz I cunn mak mah own ChUrCh" thing stopped being funny in 7th grade. If you see him IRL smack the stupid out of him for that idea for me, k thx.

Unfortunately I think this question may be out of our league TS. You might want to try ilovemunicipalzoninglitigation.com

When you're bored enough and the plot is well...

...semi-interesting I guess. Some are like soap operas where everyone does everyone, but some are great scify adventures that grab your interest at the central love triangle between the 44DD woman, the 10in shlonged he man with the euro accent and long golden hair that is more real than the woman's, and the tentacle rape beast who always seems to be down on his luck and misunderstood. Everyone just treats him as a piece of meat (mmmmm sushi), but doesn't understand his great need to fill the hole called love in his heart and the hearts of his 21 tentacles. HE HAS FEELINGS TOO!!!

The way you describe it, that does sound pretty entertaining.

Kept thinking for the first five minutes that someone will come in and it'll all be ruined, but we kept going, all fueled by alcohol and crazy loud ass shitty emo core band that I only went to because the other party I was at was boring and my friend suggested his friends band.

No idea if that band is still together (can't remember their name anyways), but I will always remember that night. And the shower.

wowzers, dude...
