I'm guessing Sony, unless Nintendo pulls an amazing coup. From everything I can tell, they really bungled the Wii U release...it's the console I'd get, but they focused on the new handheld controller so much at first that people just thought it was a new controller for the Wii. Now they're running (lame, corny...desperate?) ads with socially retarded kids and their parents "discovering" that the Wii U is a "totally new system!" So now they're trying to point out that it's new/different, but they're making it seem like a child's toy or family toy...which it can be, but they need to cast their nets a bit wider than that. If they hit hardcore gamers too, and show off some awesome upcoming titles at E3 (along with a price drop), maybe they have a chance. But I think it's too late. Bummer, cause I like Nintendo.
fuuuuuuuuck. i wasn't super excited about the PS3 or the Xbox Whatevah anyways since launch titles always suck goat buttholes. but always on.... no good. no thank you. PS3's not going to be backwards compatible either though.
i have a WiiU..... i've played the Mario game some but that's it. but that's not really a fair assessment. i haven't really been gaming much at all lately damnit.
+1
I have been thinking a lot about this. Men my age (I am 31) grew up right on the beginning of the console and close to the death of the arcade. I became addicted to gaming the year Super Nintendo came out. I frothed at the mouth for the next great game and shelled out big money the newest system. At this point in my life I could say that I have paid 20k for the numerous amounts of games, accessories, computers and everything else to feed me the next great game.
I was so turned off by the XBOX launch today because I felt after all of my years of supporting the manufactures and publishers they throw it back in my face saying they want even more. At this point I keep on asking myself "for what? whats the point?" I see nothing of value in the XBOX or any other game system for that matter other than to take more of your money for things that have no physical forum. Then I got all sad that I did not spend those countless hours doing something worth my time but I can't redo anything so I have to take it for what it is.
Point is that I think I am done with physical gaming consoles. I may get a Nintendo so I on the occasion where I get the bug to play a game I can but what is the point when after a couple of years its going to be a useless pile of electronics. Playstation 2 was amazing because you could play all of the other games you had and paid hundreds of dollars for and the new stuff that came out.
I can't really explain why, but i really really enjoyed reading that.
