Awesome! Why are the pickups so noisy? They're humbuckers, no?

thats the soundtronics amp, it needs a recap job, I keep putting it off. It quiets down after 10 minutes or so. now that I think about it, that should be my next project. I'll pull it from the rig next sunday and should have till wednesday to get it fixed up

I've decided to keep this thread going with newer projects instead of making new threads for different things. less clutter that way.
This is incoming, just won it off ebay. Has a dead pickup, no wiring and I'm sure some other issues. 1947 Gibson BR 6-

No, I don't have it yet, just won the auction so I'm going off what the seller said. It would rule if the guy is mistaken and wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened

I'm really excited about that pup, I'll be having it rewound if its dead.

Thanks! So I heard back from Andy at Johnny mac guitars and he'll rewind the pup for me, trying to source some clear nitro in the seattle tacoma area. if anyone has any ideas on that I'd love to hear em. I know Stew mac sells it but its pricey.

So I've been a busy boy this week. Reworking some cabs, and ordered some parts for the 60's japanese sg body I scored at the Seatac guitar show.
I found this neck on ebay that should work/will be made to work-
I also bought this amp that will need work-
So that ought keep me busy for a bit. Still waiting for the Gibson lap to show up.

So the 47 Gibson lap steel showed up today. Looks better off than i thought.

Dat GRAIN!

So the tuners and some of the electronics are not original. Oh well so what big deal ya wanna fight about it?
Crazy decal logo

Needs a fret job

Pickup and pick guard made of unobtanium.

So I got it apart and there was just this teeny tiny bit of wire coming from the pup. A quick test and holy shit we have sound!
Really happy about this as it was sold as having a dead pickup.

Fixy fix

Back together, all working and good to go. I may replace the tone pot as it works not so great. Little wipe down and it cleaned up nice.
