It's not his age that worries people, it's that he's morbidly obese and has Russian dressing coursing through his veins. Fans worry that a long stroll to the bathroom may take him out.

The geek in me always wants more, but the producers do justice to the source material given that they have just over twenty hours per season. It's true that they are splitting book three into two seasons as there is no way they could cram all of the awesomeness of Storm of Swords into twenty hours. Books four and five cover the same timeline and feature different sets of major characters, so I am assuming that seasons 5-7 will be a mashup of both books.

As for George R.R. Martin shuffling off this mortal coil before finishing the books, the producers of the show have been told the ending and a basic outline of how the major story arcs play out. I fully expect the series to wrap before the final book.

I really envy the people who have no idea what's coming this season........

Don't you mean roughly 10 hours per season? Seasons 1 and 2 have had 10 episodes each around 52 minutes long.

I've read the books, and I'm happy I have. Some things have more weight when you do know what's coming, like (s3e1 spoiler)
NSFW: show
Robb's wife saving Maester Qyburn at the end of the episode.
An it's pretty cool to see how the show streamlines the story.

I just wish they had made her Jayne Westerling, instead of creating this new Talisa character out of nowhere, which I assume means cutting out the Westerling's part in the RW.
