What that's not right I fully disagree with that, you better not come round here and say that or you might get stabbed...

I wouldn't say that I hate the south. But I don't have any really huge desire to go back there again any time soon. I think people in the South hate the North even more than vice versa. Every time I've been down there, I've had at least a couple people either say shit or look at me with utter disdain when I they hear where I'm from. :idk:

whereabouts down hyuh did you go? It's weird, because where I grew up, xenophobia and general intolerance wasn't as commonplace. I lived in a fairly urbanized part of Georgia. Too bad we weren't fuzzbros then. I'd have shown you a good time with some good folk :thumb:

I've taken two road trips that involved significant time in Alabama and Arkansas. And I dated a girl from Macon GA and spent a few weeks down there a couple times. The people in Macon were ok I guess, but I still got the "yankee" shit from some peeps.

That definitely happens. Sometimes it's good natured ribbing, but there are those who gen uinely feel that way. Where I'm from, there's a huge military base. So we get a lot of out-of-state-ers, and people from all over the world. That likely plays a huge part in the more accepting, laid back attitude of my hometown residents. Off the main roads, you can be southern even, and still be unwelcome.

I was born and live in Los Angeles until I was fifteen. I thought as a kid that people from other parts of California were also open minded, but not so. Starting just in Orange County the fucking rednecks piled up. Up North is got to be nothing nice. California is a huge amalgam of different types of minds.

At age 21 I moved to New Orleans. Been here for half my life. This state is more cultured and open minded than anywhere I have ever been. So typecasting the South just doesn't work. Fact is, in California and other places with huge military populations you get a stronger and more conservative inflexible mindset than anywhere else. But then you also get the rebellion from that and the cutting edge.
