You WILL post picts! :joy:

Do you want me to post them now, as an unfinished build? It's still missing 3 tuning heads, two of which have to be drilled into the headstock still.

I DO TOO! It's a bastard build of a bass I was sent (Achtane, I BELIEVE) and my old monster guitar, with tuners from a peavy bass I never used. I had to hack at the bass neck with a screwdriver and hammer because I don't own wood cutting tools (and I love hacking at wood with a screwdriver and hammer ).

It's a really weird build, and it has (for now) a permanently broken intonation

He's like the maintenance man for my apartment building, he uses a butter knife to try to fix stuff.

He doesn't even bring his own butter knife though, he always asks to borrow one of mine.

"Got a butter knife I can use for a minute?"

Hmm... I've never thought about putting a Longhorn bass neck on a guitar. There is a potential Mudfuzz VI in my future.

I've built one telecaster in my arsenal. Can't hurt to build a baritone tele!

A friend of mine purchased a vintage EBO ($200) no guts with a snapped headstock because the seller thought even w repair the headstock couldn't bear the load. He glued in 4 dowels, placed a bridge where he pleased and put in a bridge Humbucker and a crazy huge (ebo neck sized)guitar pickup in the neck that was (?)a single blade sandwiched next to a full sized.
I didn't play it far up the neck because those low notes evacuated my fudge tunnel.

Clearly you've never hacked at a guitar body or neck with a screwdriver and hammer until it did what you need. It's so damn fulfilling. :!!!:

Do any of you know if those 30" scale necks will work with one of the blacktop baritone telecaster bodies that are all up on ebay? I like that they have a larger cavity already drilled, so I could potentially experiment with different pickups more easily. I know those come with a 27.5" scale neck.....buuuuut.....thoughts? :idk:

Intonation would be the issue, unless you moved the bridge on it

Depends on the bridge location. If the bridge is the same distance from the neck pocket as a standard 25.5" scale tele, and the 30" neck works with standard teles then yes everything should be kosher, but like everything in life, there's no guarantees.

Yeah, I figured I'd have to move the bridge. But does the intonation on those Mudfuzz VIs you guys are talking about work out ok?

Edit: Oh, and off the tops of your heads....is there a body that you could do an equally pain-less switch for a 27-28.5" scale baritone neck?

This would've been a late edit....sooooo

I'm assuming/wondering if the 28.5" scale necks still fit the 25.5" 21 fretters you guys are talking about because they have 24 frets instead of 21? Make sense?

Warmoth makes 28 5/8" conversion necks that fit a pretty good variety of guitars.

Ja. I'm thinking of putting one on this, unless there's some reason I definitely shouldn't get it. I would change out the pickups for some other I have if I didn't like the blacktops.
