Scott Walker, Ennio Morricone, and Mayhem are some of my favorites.

The Drift is his most...other-worldly release. That album is at a point where the tracks are no longer songs. I don't even know what to call them. Either way, it's one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard.

i've always found the cello to be a very dark sounding instrument, especially on some of Bach's cello suites.

Seriously, I got uncomfortable the first time I listened to that. In fact, the dirt still evokes unease and discomfort for me.
