been looking for a good reverb pedal. what's a decent priced reverb that can pull off the reaallly deep dark cave/hall sounds. think godspeed and nortt/ambient metal stuff as a point of reference.
old peavey shit has the most cavernous reverb ever. plug a rat/muff into a stereo chorus 200 and you've got a poorman's shoegaze rig.

OK, so, apparently I spoke too soon. I think I've been hanging around here too much.
I was just playing guitar. I had a Leslie simulator sandwiched between two fuzzes. (Nothing new there.)
Then I thought to myself, this would sound really beautiful with some reverb.

Meh, different flavors. I love both the spring reverb on my twin and my Dr. Scientist reverberator, though I only use the DR.S live.

For me, speaking of amp reverb as "(tube) spring reverb", these two are different effects: i like digital reverb (as long as it is not a spring reverb emulation) and the amp reverb - both have their different applications in my sounds.

Real reverb.
You want it to sound like you're in a cave? Go play in a fucking cave.

If that's not real reverb, I don't know what is.

i think he meant it literally
i have a albums by a trombonist named stuart dempster. he recorded them inside an empty tank (underground overlays from the cistern chapel) and inside an abbey (in the great abbey of clement V)--incredible natural reverb:

I sorta got that. 'T'was unclear.
Perhaps ILF should open a music venue ... in a cave.
