I'm sitting in my university student union about 15 feet away from the piano which just sits in the lobby. I think I might just start banging on the keys with my head and see if anybody approaches me.

Maybe I'll put up a sign, "Wanna start a band with this guy???" And an arrow pointing at me. Or maybe I'll just start smacking it.

Facebook has it's relevance to promotion but not as much as it could. They keep changing where to find event invites, people don't seem notice as much as they used to. Facebook blows except for keeping up with people that you don't give a shit about.

actually i've gotten in touch with/become friends with a shitton of new and old people through facebook. it depends on how you use it really.

but yeah, having the invites in the teeny li'l corner is kinda dumb, even though you get notifications for them when you're invited

Dumbasses abused it. And as always, everyone pays for the dumbasses. It was all cool, extremely easy to promote and everyone would get notifications about when you started a page/event...but then people started abusing it. Like, inviting everyone to every little thing the band did. Spamming all over the place. There was a few month right before FB changed tactics where most bands would change one tiny detail about their events every hour just so people would get another notification about it. Not only were they ruining it for everyone, they were pissing off the people they wanted to attract. People ruin everything.

Mad Owlz - we live over in El Cerrito, kinda near Berkeley, practice in Oakland. SF is cool, but it is EXPENSIVE. and all my friends are in the East Bay so commuting/paying for the bridge all the time SUCKS. is your whole band moving up? y'all gots some cool stuffs.

The bassist already lives there, and my sister (the drummer) is leaving to finish schooling... and my girl and I have talked about moving out of town once she graduates, and since my best friend lives in SF (I'm from there originally), we're going to take the dive.

The band's playing one last show as our lineup in march (in Sac, if you feel like making the drive), then we're taking a break for a few months, then we're going to look for more musicians and reform.

Dude. Would love the jam some time :)

where's a good place to look? i don't really know any musicians that i super love how they play in the local scene, and i'm a shy introverted shut-in, so GIMME ATTENTION bombings at local shows aren't a very viable option. damn it.

i'd import Sylnau and some of you other lovely fuzzy monkeys but i'm afraid of the customs fees.
what'm'i doing wrong?

WHERE THE DOPE MUSICIANS THAT WANT TO DO WEIRD KINDA NOISEY SHIT AT.

Still trying to find a box... but ya know I'm a tall man. If I declare that I worth less then 50$ custom fee wouldn't be that expensive... but that damn box...
