i couldn't say if the bass player here fits that, since i didn't bother. i'd rather hear Devi's current stuff, which i've enjoyed when i've heard it, rather than what she was doing in high school. i don't want to hear what i was doing when i was in high school, either LOL.

and i don't give a crap about Devi's sexuality; i don't live in Portland and don't plan on dating her, so it's irrelevant to me. i care about whether she builds good pedals or not, and to some extent whether she's being a jerk on the internets or not. but really nowadays i only care if she makes good pedals or not, and hope she finds ways to be happy..

What, does he go around fucking youtube and bitch at people doing his songs in ways he doesn't like or something. Personally I would rather listen to this then him and his metal bending voice.

Nah, apparently Twitter is more his style.

Am I the only one who thinks a bassist without a drummer is fundamentally shitty? Then again I'm skeptical of most acoustic performances.

It's a high school talent show performance, who cares?

I do. I've had to deal with far too many of those kinds of things over the course of my lifetime. In fact, apart from shitty emo/Creed-style alt rock bands, that IS my local scene. You have to go into "the city" (aka Milwaukee) to find something that isn't an acoustic open mic night, and then you mostly just have the Borg Ward (unless somebody has some recommendations :hello: ). Some of us aren't lucky enough not to be surrounded by musicians who 98% of the time list Nirvana and Pearl Jam as their favorite bands.

So, really, I is jealous, that's what this is all about.

And I'm not saying the bassist is bad, at all.

Have heard both and I love LB,....

Those bands are exceptions.

If there's no drummer...the bass player needs to play almost like a 3rd guitar. Most noobs just keep on plucking like they have a drummer. Some cool ass players can lay down the whole rhythm section on their own.....but not me. The noob bass players just don't know, yet.

Yeah, at first I was like....wow that bass is....is...but then memories of me in high school flooded in and I was all....he's actually good.

There's no reason this needs to be a shitstorm...unless you think Bryan should be kicked out of The Sword for sloppy bass playing during a high school talent show cover

I think The Sword should be kicked out of ears across the planet. :thumb:

I actually don't mind The Sword at all. I always thought they had bit of a Sleep meets Sabbath with a dash of Melvins vibe to them. At least on the one record of theirs that I've heard.

I saw 'em live and almost fell asleep. The Sword is to Slow-and-Heavy what Bud Lite is to Beer.

No, I totally feel that way too.

Two drummers is overkill though. Especially if theyre just going to play the same thing....

... so they're not slow and heavy at all?

'cause, like... Bud Lite isn't beer.

Two drummers may be overkill, but a whole slew of auxiliary percussionists playing numerous overlapping rhythms is teh sex0rz!

And isn't being lame what generation x is all about? Seriously, you guys are the most uninteresting people on the planet. You're going to be a whole generation of elderly people boring the shit out of their grandchildren with stories about when you were in highschool and your friend had a car a Nivana, and that's the whole story. :P

I keed, I keed. You're not ALL bad.

"may" was meant to be the operative word, but really who am I kidding? I don't believe in overkill. Wall o' sound, baby!

So do I at least in a the context of music you need drums for... sucks more to have to be the bassist at those times.
