I was GASing hard for one when they were released back in the days.
Tried one at the local guitar store and it was as awkward to play as a piece of furnature...
Reverse GAS for me on the BFG (and WTF where they thinking "Big Fucking Guitar"?! Its Gibson not ID Software)

Played a '60s tribute, Les Paul Special Single Cut, and the BFG. I liked the pickups on the BFG the best. That's important thing #1. The finish on the '60s tribute was nice, but the output was weaker thank I expected.

You know... the when these first came out... with the BFG name the very first thing that came to mind was... I thought The Rev Billy G was endorsing Gretsch...

This guitar screams must grow beard to me

Jesus, I want this. And I'm not even that into guitars anymore.
I was seriously considering getting back into electric (which I do have to do) using a BFG. Now... oh that is awesome.

i think its pretty damn rad
y'alls seem to hate on figured tops here a lot, and yeah, flamed maple looks kinda cheese, but nothin looks classier on a bass than a naturally finished quilted maple, buckeye burl, or quilted walnut/redwood.
