How about a G&L Asat special with a bigsby... when I was looking for a jazzmaster alternative people recommended that. Now i'm looking for a guitar that combines the Special w/ a jazzmaster lol. And those yamahas are hot!

Aren't the asat specials just teles with P90s?

And I think I might just give up on fender in favor of vintage yamahas...

You are my new idol.

Those old Yamahas are so fucking cool. Their "weird surf guitar" line is easily my favorite body shape.

Nope they're not p-90s... they're beefy single coils

a 12-string with a tremolo...that's either visionary or insane. not that one excludes the other.

It's a dual function guitar -- you can knock out Stairway to Heaven in your boring cover band and then later in the same day, just whack the tremolo once and play all the avant-garde originals you want with your new fucked-up tuning. Er, custom tuning.

Weaker pups, bolt neck, and JM trem

These should be pretty gazin' while not being a jazz/jag

The pups on that second look a lot like the pups on the guitar Bill Corgan used for Mayonaise and 1979 :yay:

This!! I'm thinking about buying a cheap CV or Mexi Tele and routing it for a JM trem. From what I've heard it's a pretty easy mod, its a simple route for the trem and the body is more than thick enough for it.

I would advise CV over and over.

I was watching a really sweet blue Tele body with 2 P-90's, but they kill't the auction early. Be easier and cheaper to buy a used Squier CV or Standard the way parts prices on the 'bay are going up and Squier prices used on craigslist and/or Guitar Center are going down down down. :idk:
