I’m a firm believer in holding every one to the same standard.
But alas that ain’t so.
For years they over looked Teddy’s affairs and drinking problem because he was a Kennedy “poor Ted and the Kennedy legacy.
But we can go back in time (swirly lines and Theremin music)
Check out Wilber Mills and Fannie Fox
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/artic ... 35,00.htmlIt’s always been there as well as misconceptions about the “founding Fathers”
Jefferson wasn’t a “devout Christian”
And the Pilgrims were thrown out of England and Holland because of being intolerant and wanting to force their beliefs on every one else.

off topic but sorta still on topic: true story.
when clinton was being investigated for his "infidelities", i wrote him a letter of support saying: it's a shame that the republicans are wasting all this money (the tax payer's money) on an issue that should be between he and his wife. a personal issue involving consensual sex. and while this "railroading" is going on there are real world issues that are being overlooked out of spite.
there was a bit more to it but that was the gist of it.
he fukking wrote me back thanking me for my support...blah blah blah.
i still have the letter somewhere...it came with the presidential seal and personally signed, all that good stuff.
but.
.... then he acted like an ass during the deposition. i would have loved it if he said it was between he and his wife or that is was a personal issue...something other than the shite that came out of his mouth. it was sorta lame that he didn't stand his ground and instead came out lookinf like a fool.
now....if mr oscar mayer sent wienie photos to chickies that wanted to see them, then no harm done except to his wife. i sorta doubted hillary cared about anything other than her career...wiener's wife may not feel that way.
either way. it's a personal issue that is really none of our biz UNLESS he was breaking the law.
we all know politicians are liars...but we don't need it in our face. that's the difference. and when caught "doing the maid", just admit it and stand up like a man.
either way it's merely an issue of honesty.
i don't know much about mr. wiener...maybe he did admit it? maybe the girls in question asked for the dick shots? but a crying wife that was fuct over is not good for anyone in that position. jeez man...go to a pro and this shite wouldn't happen. it's that easy.
however i don't think it's fair comparing modern times to days gone by. different world.
i don't give a fuck, but i honestly do understand why others would.

That's why Weiner went down. Not because of the act, but because of the lies and cover.

Yeah, I was super disappointed about that. Not only was what he did incredibly stupid, but his cover up was pretty lame.
Still, I don't think it was grounds for him to resign. Most people in his district were still fine with him.

I haven't read every page but am I the only person to think 'F this guy'?
How about being a god damned professional? Or being a decent human being? Or maybe just not being such a ridiculously stupid person.
He's a politician. He knows the game. He had to know that this kind of nonsense could potentially screw his career. Then he did it anyway. And not only that, but did everything in such a way that it is easy for people to find out. Then lied about it, when he had to know that people would look for AND FIND everything that would prove he was lying.
Let's just forget about any sort of moral implications, or whether that matters or not for a person in his position. That may not be anyone's business to begin with.
BUT
He's just so dumb that it makes me angry. Stupidity is unforgivable.
